What I expect from history.
What does it do for me now?
How could it be improved to make it more useful.

I expect to be able to use history to quickly see the history of all my previous gigs , so when I am performing at regular multiple venues I can just select the last gig at that venue and see what I performed there and then use that as a bed to create a new gig knowing what songs I have chosen for the gig and what songs I actually played at that gig so I can then rearrange my order of songs to suit that venue.
At the moment history is not very useful for future planning it only works on the tonight’s show to be able to get to a previously played song, this I don’t really need as all my songs are always in my tonight’s playlist I don’t need History , what I need history for is when I am planing my next gig months later I want to be able to select that last venues gig and have my marked played songs for that evening still in place , I then want to duplicate this playlist with the marked songs then I want to rearrange my song order, then when I am happy with the new order I CLEAR my done songs for that newly created playlist and presto! I have my new gig ready, the same audience will now hear me again but with a completely new song order .
At the moment history does not really do much for us, yes it’s great to be able to create a new playlist from songs you already played but it’s not really usable as you don’t really want to bore the audience with the same old order of songs every time you play there, printing out this history is fine but this all takes time and effort to do and becomes very messy when performing regularly in many different venues and functions.
I expect a year later to simply select that playlist/GIG and see exactly what songs I had in the playlist the order and which songs i actually performed this then gives me a great starting point to prepare for the next gig at that particular Venue/function This gives HISTORY a very powerful function.
At the moment you have to clear the history if you have a new gig which could be the next day , you might not have time to save/print the last gig NOW YOU HAVE JUST LOST THAT HISTORY AND NEXT TIME YOU NEED IT YOU HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH, this makes history function a bit useless yet it could be a very useful tool if implemented correctly.

If you rely on the history the way you described it, you need to store the history as a playlist which is already possible. Then setup a keyword maybe for the venu you played in or whatever. And then you can look back in the playlists for that venu for whatever information you need.

peter no that’s not a viable solution as the played sons are always deleted when playing a new gig so that history is lost and that’s the part I want to be memorised .
Simply put
I just want every playlist to have its own done song history I don’t care if in song list my done songs get canceled as it is purely a full storage area of all my songs , but my playlists are my gigs and I want them to remember everything long term so I can reuse them in many ways to save time.
Deleting done , deletes all done songs everywhere I just want to delete all done songs in the playlist I have selected leaving all done songs in tact in all other playlists , this then becomes an instant tool for later use without having to do any work.
Just think about the way it works now its only to suit the gig you are doing right now as soon as you do the next gig you have to clear done which then erases the important data you need to know when you are doing another gig at same venue months later ,
My way, I would not have to do anything after a gig a year later I just duplicate this playlists and because it still has the full song list and the order I organised the songs plus it is still showing me which songs I actually performed last time all I need to do is duplicate this list rename it with a different date rearrange my songs to suit perhaps use some songs I haven’t played at that venue and get rid of songs I have bashed to death at some venues then when I am happy with new order of songs I hit delete DONE and I am ready for that gig , this then gives us great value using DONE not only on the night but also in the future for organising our gigs easily without any extra effort.
The thing to do is just let us be able to clear done in each individual playlist and not a global clear like it is now , clearing done in history should only clear done in song mode , there needs to be a seperate clear done in every playlist.
