  • Feature request, Hide played songs from view

Hello Peter

I was wondering if it could be possible in future versions to have the option to hide played songs from the playlist.

Thanks

Kevin

Kevtyler I believe you have that already if you use Queue mode, which I don’t.
I just use the highlight DONE songs and it’s great the playlist skips the done songs but you can still choose them if someone requests to repeat a song. Normally if you do up to 50 songs a night that’s pretty good and it doesn’t take much to skip around 50 songs.

You don't even need to use advanced queue mode. Just enable showing the queue tab in Settings > Queue. Then load a playlist and switch to the queue tab. The current song will always be on top and removed once played.

Sorry about the delay getting back to you Peter, Damir,

I will forward this thread to my partner who is hosting the session. The reason I raised this request is that we have about 90 songs in one playlist, we play song 1 3 4 and 5 etc then possibly jump to song 9 11 and so on over a 3 hour show. When we get to a certain point, he’ll ask what do I want to do, currently I can only see songs in front of the current song, nothing behind so I physically walk over to his pad and scroll backwards to see what I’ve not played.

I’ll check out your suggestions, many thanks.

    Kevin

I originally disabled queue mode not fully understanding its potential. We need to look at it again.

Kevtyler When you are in the queue display and decide to play song 9 after song 5, you can swipe it to the right and move it to the top of the queue. Again, no need to turn on Advanced Queue mode for this. Songs 6, 7 and 8 will still be visible. Even for the connected network clients. Or you could swipe song 6 to the right and move it to the bottom of the queue. Either way you would still see all unplayed songs in the queue.

The reason i dont use queue is, i also have all my songs in one playlist for the whole night and i jump around this playlist with my foot pedal while performing to choose the NEXT song , in this mode all i need is two foot buttons to go up/down my list, this does not need any more switches to achieve a selection , i alsouse the colour code to indicate the already played songs which makes it easy to see if a song has already played and if i leave the software to choose the next songs in list it automatically skips the already played songs , so this makes it also easy tokeep going in the list, but i can always foot select an already played song if someone request an already played song, i dont need to go to history which is a pain if you dont want to touch the ipad on stage, my way of working has lots of benefits if you dont want to touch the device and fully and simply do everything by foot control, i can turn my volume up and down and the tempo by foot if i need a small tweak , so i basically load my playlist for that nights gig with first 50 songs in order i have previously selected and all my other songs after the 50 are in alphabetical order so i can easily scroll to any song while performing to choose any of my 370 songs .
To create another gig playlist is easy if i have a similar gig i just duplicate this playlist rename it for new gig and fine tune tweak the first 50 songs for that particular gig , then on the night i can jump around if needed , some nights i dont need to tweak at all other nights i am getting requests which makes it easy to organise the next song as i am performing the now song.
This is why i dont use Queue that gets rid of your played songs and does not give you ease of foot pedal choosing next song and if you need to play sweet caroline for the third time in the night you can easily get to it without having to switch to history every time using you fingers on the screen.
        Hope this helps.
        Cheers Damir

        Thanks Peter

It’s just been a bit tough for me as I’m not controlling the scrolling as I’m a client and can only see the songs beyond the current song, I think this is why we were requesting scrolling from the client which you said was too much of a job.

        Many thanks.

Kevtyler aha now I know your problem sorry I misunderstood the issue and yes it would be very nice if you could also control the host from the client machine as well.

Damir yes but it’s not to be, I think queue mode will help. Cheers
