I screwed up badly

A very sad story, from a Mac newbie user who made a tragic mistake. I unknowingly put the ST3 folder, database, and all of the files in the trash. Don't ask, it was beyond stupid on my part. I reopened ST3, and it appears it created a new, blank database with nothing it it. No songs, no playlists, no lyrics. I restored the MP3 files from the trash, and when I go to Settings and open the ST3 Files folder, the MP3s are in its folder, but they are not yet imported into ST3. Again, I'm not seeing any of the database info or lyrics. Is there any way to restore the database / get it back? It has to be on the hard drive somewhere, just not sure where, and I don't know how to find / overwrite the new database that has been created.

My last backup is a couple of weeks ago, and I have done dozens of hours of work since then. I really hate to recreate it all over again. Is there anything I can do?

You can restore the folder ~/Library/Containers/Stage Traxx 3 from a Time Machine Backup. That will get you everything back.

Thanks Peter, but unfortunately I have not yet set up Time Machine backups on this Mac. I only got this MacBook a couple of weeks ago, and coming from the PC world everything is foreign to me. Mostly ST3 and the Music app are all I have been working with. I restored my most recent iCloud ST3 backup from a couple of weeks ago, and my song library is restored, but of course a lot of work on Playlists, lyric display, etc. has been lost. If there is any other way to restore my work (from Trash?) I will try it, otherwise I have to live with my mistake. Thanks for your efforts.

If you have the whole Stage Traxx 3 folder in your trash, then replace ~/Library/Containers/Stage Traxx 3 with that folder. Apart from that, there is no way to restore the work you have done.

Make sure to use Time Machine in the future. It's a very powerful tool that you just need to enable and no longer worry about things like accidently deleting something.
