  • Midi notes for DMX controller

I have 7 scenes to use for songs in my show. I would like to use the midi recorder on the lyrics but need to program somekind of virtual pad to add the notes. I use a MAC...

Anyone got any ideas? Don't want to go and buy any more hardware if I can get away with it.

My ideal would be -

Have ST3 open and recording for Midi. Have another software open on same Mac with 8 pads programmed with the midi notes.

If you don't feel this is a thing - I have an old Ipad, that doesn't like new apps. I also have a PC.

Thanks for the video. You explained everything really well. I think what I need is a virtual pad or keyboard, to send those midi notes into St3. Hoping that I can just have side by side windows open on the mac. But may need to Bluetooth something in.

    if you have an iphone/ipad you can use a midi app to generate the midi notes and just BT your phone to your mac

        OK, so I have the ipad communicating. I have 2 fixtures. When I program scene 1 for the moving heads, that works, but when I then program scene 2 for wash, which is the 2nd fixture, that works, but stops the scene for the moving heads.

        Is this normal? Any idea how to get it to talk to them individually so fixture 1 doesn't turn off on a fixture 2 command?
