Hi Peter
we have recently moved completely to Icloud sync which seemed to be working well..however despite the ipad showing sync is completed and all songs appearing correctly in Ipad song list and playlists...some are red...ie the actual AUDIO is missing on the Ipad despite it being there perfectly and playable in OSX app..
what could be happening..there seems to be no obvious connection between what songs are missing
we even tried deleting one completely- re-adding from osx app and resysncing... it shows but in RED on the Ipad again ..
any ideas?
Thanks !
Audio Missing on Ipad when synced from MAC app (ICLOUD SYNC)

You could try the following (order is important!):
- Create a full backup file on your Mac (just in case)
- Disable iCloud sync on your iPad
- Disable iCloud sync on your Mac
- Delete cloud data on your Mac
- Enable iCloud sync again on your Mac (wait until the initial sync is finished)
- Delete and reinstall Stage Traxx on your iPad
- Enable iCloud sync on your iPad

Ok ..that’s quite a task…will try that when I have a bit of downtime in case I have any issues…
Is there nothing else you could suggest that’s not quite so drastic ?
more worryingly, how does this happen and is it likely to happen again? …would be a disaster to arrive at a gig and find some tracks had disappeared from the iPad…..I think the iCloud sync is really good, but this worries me :-)
The whole iCloud sync is a bit a of a black box. Stage Traxx is pushing the boundaries a bit by syncing rather large audio files. The iCloud servers have things like rate limiting active which prevents too fast and too large data transfers. Usually problems resolve by themselves eventually but it is really hard to tell why exactly something fails.
Thanks Peter…will try those steps and see how it goes…..appreciate the help…
One thing..number 4 - delete cloud data on your Mac….what exactly do you mean by that?
Open Settings in ST3 and tap on "Delete iCloud Data". That button is only visible if iCloud sync is off.

Ok ..well sadly that didnt work..I ended up with files missing on BOTH apps...mac and Ipad..
I only got them back by a standard restore without Icloud after deleting ALL icloud data...
I then did some experimenting on a completely different mac and ipad for safety (and different itunes account)
I restored the same backup, then iCloud synced the IPAD...it did most of the files, and then error2 appeared..
Then tried to sync the MAC stagetraxx to it ...which seemed to finish..
Now the ipad stagetraxx app crashed on opening ! couldnt open it at all..
Had to delete the app completely and start again ..then turned on icloud sync which says its finished, and now have LOADS of songs missing... Im not having the best time here ! :-)
Really looks to me like the Icloud stuff is not reliable for use in Stagetraxx which is a great shame ..interestingly like another user here who mentioned Icloud Issues , I also have. a large amount of files (1400 songs) some of which (20 or so ) are long 1 hour files (interval music)
I wonder if high numbers of songs , or big files (150Meg Plus for those) is whats messing this all up...
Unless you have any brainwaves, Im forced to switch Icloud sync off im afraid... its too flaky..
I guess the big files might be the problem. You have a very large library with very large files. The iCloud database is not very good in handling large files. I guess with your library size you will not get a stable sync running. iCloud sync works really well with library sizes below 1GB. Above that it is more hit and miss.
Hmmm thought that may be the case... my partner uses it for gigs and choir parts (lots of them) so getting it much lower may well be tricky LOL ...what a shame... I love the sync when it works. !

Question...when icloud syncing, and it says number of files to go, why is that number way larger than the actual audio tracks on the system...just curious..im trying desperately to get file sizes down here LOL
This is the sum of uploads and downloads and also includes pdf files.
aaah ok..I have no PDFs ..was showing 3700 to go on 1400 tracks on first sync so was curious !
