iPad Lightning Out to USB to X32R?

Hi Peter. Unbelievable app! It literally does everything I've ever wanted in a show management system. The icing on the cake is being able to manipulate looped sections in real time. That's always been my main drawback to using backtracks as a solo artist is being married to the arrangement. Kudos to your brilliance! Anyhow, on to my question.

I use an X32R as my main stage mixer. Can I come out of an ipad to a lightning->USB adapter and then straight into the X32R USB port to send my multitracks straight into the mixer? I've never used the USB in this way, and it would save me significant cost to not have to purchase a separate USB mixer to then output the analog signal to the mic pres.

mattdaltonrules Hello sir, just wondering if you have tested this out? How did it work if so? I just purchased this a couple days ago, I have the iPad adapter coming soon. I have it working great from my MacBook.

PatInTheHat HI, yes, I plugged it in and the XUSB linked up to the app automatically. I have not used it in practice yet though. But I trust it to work when I get to that point 🙂

Hi, I always use it with my band in this mode: 14 tracks with "real" musicians + 8 backing tracks (1 click, 1 cues, 6 stereo instruments). In my ipad I have Stage Traxx, connected to the X32 with the lightning adapter and a USB cable. The mixer works as a sound card, so you will have to set up the internal routing, to tell the mixer that some of its channels come from the USB port. This way, you can play on the backing tracks easily and manage them on separate tracks, as you would with real musicians.

Sorry for hijacking this topic, but would there be a maximum length of cable in this kind of setup (lightning->USB adapter -> usb A to B) in order to connect an Ipad via lightning to (in my case) an Midas M32R mixer?

5 meters is the maximum allowed length for usb cables. Be sure to buy a high quality cable if you want to use the maximum length.
