Peter - let me first say ST3 is a game-changer. I love the app and all the improvements you continuously make. One of my most favorite features is regions. As a solo performer I can put drums in and use the region feature to vamp and change the performance based on the audience and the feeling. With a drum track, adding regions made ST3 an instrument to be played verses a digital tape recorder to play a backing track. The BeatBuddy has a similar approach. You can sequence loops that will repeat as long as you like until you step on the pedal and it will go to the next one. I usually have something like verse 1, verse 2, chorus each looping until I press the pedal to go to the next one. I know this is easy to do in ST3 too and I've done it with my AirTurn. However, there is one big difference. With the BeatBuddy, regardless of where I am in the loop, stepping on the pedal will go to the next loop on the one-beat. Sometimes it takes a while to get there but when it's ready it switches. I find this particularly useful if, for example, I have an 8-bar intro but I want to go into the verse after 4 bars or 12 bars or 2 bars. Also, if I get lost or forget to stop the loop (because I'm sooo into my performance) and start playing and singing verse 2 even though the BeatBuddy is still looping verse 1 (you know how you can lose yourself in a performance) I can just step on the pedal and, and the BeatBuddy will switch to the verse 2 loop and I'm back on track. I hope that's not too confusing. The downside of sticking with the BeatBuddy is that ST3 is so much better! If I had this one feature I'd be able to ditch the BeatBuddy and simply my rig.
I am aware of the documentation (pasted below) that says it will not work. I was hoping you could give it more thought (I remember when you couldn't change the tempo of multitracks). Wherever I am in a current loop I want to go to the very next loop (not jump around) at the top of the bar. You've done some amazing things already. I'm hoping you can find a workaround for this.
Again - ST3 is a game-changer and I thank you for what you've already created.
From the documentation.
Stage Traxx can not jump in the middle of a region to another region. All transitions are only possible at region borders (start or end of a region). The audio engine needs to prepare playback of the next region about half a second before the current region ends. Selecting a new region within this preparation time will not work.
