Thanks Peter, generally speaking ST3 delivered again a geat night, but it was not without glitches I thought I would point them out before I forget.
AirTurn stomp 6 sucked again I could not use it my digit3 remote only partially worked Stop/Start was ok but my song search was jumping two songs at a time so it was useless, I mainly used the interface, so I am giving up with AirTurn and will change to something more reliable if I can find it.
I used HOST and another iPad for lyrics for guests, this works well to a point but as soon as I do things on the host the guest keeps disconnecting, this is a major bummer as I have to continually reconnect the guest device and keep a close eye on it that it stays connected, the two devices were on mic stands on stage 2 meters apart, the signal is not the problem it’s the software logic that is not up to the job.
I had a very reactive crowd with requests flying in all night, thank god for my shitty Stop 6 tha was disconnected I could do a search more easily as it did not hog my keyboard but I still found a trap with search as I had to use filter to quickly find a particular song but I forgot to reset to no filter after the search as I was performing so the next time I used search there were no results because the filter was still active this is another trap, we don’t have time on stage to keep resetting things as we run along so perhaps when you exit search it should default to no filter allowing a new fresh full search and if I need a filter then I engage it.
This would make the search allways look at all your database always when a new search is needed .
I also wish I could do a search directly in playlist mode as that’s where I am working and I don’t want to change screens it’s awkward.
I love the loops, someone requested a song i have in a 5 song medley but not as a full song
So i just selected the full medley and because i have all 5 songs in a seperate loop i just selected the wanted song hit play and saved the day i got exactly what i needed plus after i repeated this small part of the song 3 times i jumped around the other 4 songs in the group seamlesly and the crowd loved it , the only snag was i brought down the the page twice while trying to select loops this hs been a mayor issue always, but the loops idea is one of the most powerful tools on stage appart from the lyrics /chord display , the guests loved the extra screen on the other stand and went home thinking they were absolute stars we had a ball im still recovering.
