I use Camelot Pro in combination with ST3 on the same iPad and that works pretty fine. I host different AUv3 Instruments in Camelot Pro (Pianoteq 8, Audiolayer, Zeeon, Poison-202, KQ Dixie and bs-16i) and can basically cover any song I need with this. But I have sampled some key sounds from my keyboards so that it sounds the same as with my regular keyboards.

So far I am happy with this setup. Camelot Pro is running in the background and setups are switched automatically from ST3 so that I don't need to switch apps. Only thing I would love to see is for Camelot to be able to run side by side with ST3 so that I could see both at the same time.

Hi Peter, thanks for sharing the Camelot Pro software existance, the software is another perfect example of design with no final vision or real life use, its basically a Daw without a piano roll than can display pdf, it claims to be a great live on stage software, well it definitely isnt, if i need a live sound source my Yamaha tyros 2 does a great job and its easy to get any sound quickly and can layer four sounds at once and easily manipulate any combination, as far as programing sceenes to control external gear, whopee any daw can easily change presets for you and is just as unfriendly to do this and once you program the sceenes to automate everything around then you are locked in and you might as well just record the whole setup and just play along with the recording , ST3 loops are something that actually gives you freedom to manipulate the performance on the run, this is a major thing on stage , the wank to program everything and automate it yet give no real freedom to manipulate the backing music makes Camelot just another tinkering toy to play with but it definitely has missed the point of what its trying to do so it does nothing well especially on stage, its just very nice if you like seeing external gear beeing controled remotely , so you can spend a lifetime of tinkering and minimal time performing.
Sorry for the negative comments but its frustrating seeing people spend so much time developing nothing new.

peter What commands do you use to switch automatically from ST3 to Camelot Pro? I've used Camelot Pro for a couple years now and would like to use ST3 as my main app and have Camelot Pro do all my program and patch changes in the background. I would like the same setup as the way you're using both apps.

Lol, Damir, this is another perfect example where you assume that what you want in an app is what everyone else also wants in an app and anything else is pure nonsense. You couldn't be more wrong here.

What Camelot does can not be achieved with a daw and vice versa. It is a perfect tool for anyone who is looking for an iOS alternative to Mainstage. It is a very well thought out app that works great.

peter I suppose you are right Pete I only love simple to operate software that does not need a lot of brain power to operate as I’m getting older time is more valuable to me , yes it is a smooth design that does things I don’t have a need for but I’m sure someone will find it very useful, all I really want is a decent software module that has fantastic GM sounds so I can easily record my backing tracks without relying on my Tyros, Logic sounds are ok but not great with accordion sounds or traditional ethnic instruments it’s all geared up for new generation music.
I’ve been watching some of the videos and it appears the software has Roland sounds on board perhaps I could use it as a sound module, and the PDF display is still a mystery so I might give it another look , perhaps the videos aren’t getting to the main point of the software and how you would use it on stage if you are also performing, I hate using multiple things to achieve something that one software should do, life is complicated enough.

Camelot does not have any sounds on board. It's main purpose is being a host for virtual instruments and a control center for all your midi gear.

But what you mention is really a big problem today: we don't have a great rompler available as a virtual instrument for iOS. At least not one that could compete with a Yamaha Montage or a Tyros. That's why I sample some important sounds directly from my MODX or previously from my Kurzweil. The Kurzweil Strings are still the best out there in my opinion. Unfortunately the Kurzweil hardware is quite error prone (or I had bad luck with the 2 boards I had).

peter Aha thanks for the extra info re Camelot I won’t waste any more time with it as it’s designed to do something I don’t need and I must say it’s a nice design overall I could easily get use to it , perhaps ST4 could grab some of its basic principles NOT ALL I like the it as is, almost 😂,
But you are spot on with lack of a fantastic GM sound module on iOS I’ve got the old Roland module they designed a few years back but it’s antiquated and then there’s a few shitty players with crappy sound fonts, I want to buy a top of the range sound module that can play every instrument around the world perfectly so I can choose a sound without fing around to complete a backing track , this is badly lacking in the App Store, I don’t need another keyboard or a module tack on I’m running out of room in the house. So if anybody knows of a great software package let me know I now use Easy Drummer , Easy bass, but I want EASY EVERYTHING, cheers 😃new year!

I just send a program change to camelot. Which program change you need to send depends on how you organized your setups in Camelot.
