Sample Rate mismatch

I'm using the last Stage Traxx 3.8.5, with multitrack files, my sample rate is 48 KhZ, on an iPhone 8 (placed near my mixer networked with my iPad on stage).
I import the files from Karaoke-version.com, arrange them with Logic Pro 10.8 in a 48 kHz session template and export individually each track before importing them in my phone.
When I look at the files informations I see them as 48 kHz files, but when importing in ST3 I got the sample rate warning saying it's 44 kHz .
The only way to make it work is go on aconvert.com to modify the file, I keep the same sample rate, save it under a new name and import again in ST3.
I would be glad if it could be transferred direct from Logic to ST3.
Any suggestions to make it work?

You can select the sample rate to use in logic when bouncing your tracks. But I don't understand why the file info is showing 48k and ST3 is warning about 44.1k. Can you maybe create a small (couple of seconds) long file that shows this problem? Then send it to support@stagetraxx.com.

Hi Peter, I sent a bigger file for testing with WeTransfer if you don't mind, because when I took the first 4 bars for testing, it worked !

As you can see, the file is 48 kHz but I get the mismatch warning.

Why oh why do you need to export everything in 48Khz and put extra strain on your iPad and audio device?

I’ve had some issues with playing back 48k files (was just experimenting) and found a lot of sync issues especially in ST3.

Just interesting to know why you need 48k 😊🙏

It's just for the better quality, not sure that I can hear a difference, but I started with 48 kHz and would have to redo what is already running in 48 kHz with 44 kHz new files.
But I can do it if there is no other solution. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙂

You will definitely not hear a difference between 48 and 44.1 especially given the fact that the source is mid quality MP3

I’d change all your other tracks to 44.1 but that’s me 😊even if you’re using a recent enough iPad, the strain on the audio engine isn’t worth the hassle and the extra space it’s gonna take.

If bounce all my self made (recorded properly) tracks to 320Kbs MP3s (44.1) and even that’s too much.

Bouncing to mp3 there’s not option to choose bitrate except for the Kbps.

Below that I wouldn’t use even though none of your listeners would know the difference between 320 and 160.
From 128 and lower you’ll definitely hear quality drop, but that also depends on the quality of your PA and everything connected.

I’ve seen people use such bad sound it was like listening to 64kbps or lower

Lp59 Thanks, I imported the file and it is recognized as 48k in ST3. Which is correct, the file has 48k. Could it be that you already imported a file with the same name for another song? ST3 will then use the existing file and when that has 44k it will show you the warning. Regarding the audio format: I always recommend doing a double blind test listening to your own files encoded in different bitrates. Personally I can identify 128kbit encoded mp3 every time. 160kBit is a bit hit and miss and at 192kbit I am not able to tell what is the uncompressed and what is the mp3 file. With a4c I can not even tell the difference at 128kBit so that is what I personally use for Playbacks: 128kbit a4c.

Thanks for the in depth answer. I might have other files with the same names, not sure if they are 44 kHz.
But I will investigate. Will definitely read your tutorial.
What I discovered is when I use the export function in Logic, I often (not always) got the error message. When using the bounce function everything seems to translate as it should. No warning.
Anyway I will redo my home work using your settings. You suggest 44 or 48 kHz?

44k or 48k doesn't really matter. Just make sure to stick to a single setting and use that as the internal samplerate in ST3.

one follow on to this (a year later)

I'm discovering that the mixer I'm using to send multitrack to only operates at 48k or 96k, so I'm setting Stage traxx to 48k rather than 44p1k and redoing all my multitrack to match... fortunately I'm new at stage traxx and have only made ₂₀ songs so far.

Also, discovered that izotope Rx has a batch resample function, which makes this process a lot faster. All I really need to do is drop the files in the right folder and re-grab them in each song in stage traxx.

From my experience 48k seems to be come more widespread than 44k. Especially as 48k is the de facto standard for videos. So I also switched over to pure 48k tracks a while ago.

Also the new Apple hardware only supports 48k on the internal speakers.
