I have a problem that has only just started happening.
I create a playlist and the songs are for a tribute show, so they have to run in order.
The set starts ok but I get so far into the set then in the middle of 1 song it jumps to the next song?
It’s embarrassing in front of a crowd?
I tried disabling advance queue mode but it makes no difference?
I have had Stagetrax 3.8.2 for over a year now and I have added new songs to my set but this is so frustrating?
Can you help me sort this or is it a common issue that’s fixed with a new bug fix?

Graham1061 does it happen on the same songs in the same spot all the time or is it random?
Are you using Stereo or multitracks?
Is a your device up to date?

Any other clues you can give Peter might help him narrow it down.

I’ve never had that problem and I use stereo tracks, so it seems like you might be using multitrack songs as a guess.

The more info you can give the better as this sounds like a tough one to crack and it’s very bad as you say.

Have you checked you haven’t accidentally shortened the end of song,
If multitracking, is one track shorter than the rest perhaps causing the ending,
Does this happen if QUEUE is disabled, that’s my preferred operating choice and i don’t have your issue.

I am using stereo tracks.
I don’t use multi tracks
It happens with the same songs
The auto play function starts and the track is about no 5 on the set list.
It sometimes just jumps to the next track but mainly in the middle of the song?

I have another track in the tribute set but this just doesn’t auto play even though auto play slider is on?

I am using the latest version iPad and my IOS updates are up to date.
Not all the songs jump or won’t start!
I had some tracks made especially for the act and the tribute show and it seems to happen with these tracks.
I have trouble with songs playing but lyrics are not syncing?
This has caused me to stop tracks in the middle and to re-start the track.
It just doesn’t seem professional to my audience and it’s embarrassing for me.

Please open Settings and select Send Support Email. Write which song ends too early so that I can look for any clues in the log files.

Graham1061 do you have any midi messages embedded in the song which might be incorrect and triggering next song by accident?

So someone else made these tracks for you?
Do you time stamp your own lyrics?
If someone else is preparing your songs it could be they have done something ST3 does not like, also perhaps do a full backup and reinstall ST3 again just in case it was a corrupted installation,
what type of audio files are you using?
Is it always the same songs at the exact same time this occurs?
You should check the lyrics editor to see if anything unusual is programmed at those times.
You might have corrupted audio files that might need to be placed in a DAW and checked fixed and exported again so they play correctly.

I am just throwing ideas around to see if something exposes your problem as it’s a major problem that others are not experiencing, so it must be something to do with your particular files.
Syncing of lyrics should definitely work if you have done it yourself in the editor, do you do your own syncing of lyrics?

Peter will surely find your problem as it’s a big one but I think it’s not ST3 that’s the issue.

I think the program has developed a fault. The program worked well for over a year and I had no issues until recently.
My lyrics have not caused any issues.
While using it last night, it jumped to the next song and it wasn’t one of the songs that had previously caused a problem?
I could see the lyrics had advanced and were out of sync with the track before it jumped to next song.
The auto play feature worked for 3 songs then stopped on the next one when I was expecting it to just start the next song?
There are multiple issues now.
This version has obviously become corrupted in some way but I am still unsure why?
I have been back to all the settings and checked the songs but can find nothing that would cause the issues on testing at home but I cannot feel confident when I am doing my shows that it is reliable and it is causing me great unease.
If I do a full backup and then remove this program, would I need the installation information like purchase proof and code to reinstall?
I don’t know where I find this now?
I think I have no options but to do this?

Graham1061 have you fully updated your operating system and ST3?
Peter needs to know your exact setup , to help.
Yes, make a full backup then reinstall your ST3 to see if that helps.No you don’t need anything to install again if you have purchased the software as long as it’s under your original login information in Apple Store.

Dear Peter,
I have had hours and hours of rehearsal time at home. I am using an iPad Air 2 software version 15.7.5 updates are automatic and up to date.
Stagetrax version 3.8.3 is being used for my shows.
I do not use multi tracks.
I only use mp3 tracks and most were imported from iTunes but I have bought tracks separately from other sources and imported them in to my song bank.
I load up a set list from my playlists and slide the auto play button across.
The song list starts to play in order of the songs I selected and then the next and after about 4-5 songs the playlist stops playing in auto play?
I am expecting a new song to start and I have to go back and manually start it?
I have done the same in the queue set and set the auto play button to on?
The songs play and then a song will play so far, then it jumps to the next song right in the middle of the song?
I have imported lyrics to a lot of my songs but not all of them as I have over 600 songs in my collection.
I have synced a lot of songs to highlight the positions in the songs and they are done in various colours synced to lines and beats.
The lyrics don’t function properly as they sometimes stick ( by that, I mean they don’t change colour or move), or do not sync and at other times they are too far ahead with the song bar showing it is near the end of the song?
There are multiple issues and I need it to function like it did when I first had the program?
These issues are causing me stress and embarrassment?
I cannot pinpoint an exact song that is causing a problem as it happens randomly.
I did buy some tracks that I had made for me especially, and I had trouble loading them into Stage Traxx but they are now all loaded. I noticed they did cause jumping issues initially by totally skipping the song to the next one in the playlist but lately they have been ok?

I have shows this coming weekend and I need this sorted urgently

Is there a reason you are not running iOS 15.7.8 or 15.8?

I have tested autoplay with short songs for an hour on iOS15.8 on iPad Air 2 and I fail to see any issues. Sorry.

Dear Peter there is a real problem here and my auto play function stops after about 5 or 6 songs into the queue set and the pause button is still red after the previous song and does not play the next song.
I have done it 3 or 4 times today and it happens with different songs?
The set does not continue even though I have re- encoded songs and updated to IOS 15.8
I want this resolved and do you think a back up and reinstall will be the best option as I have little time to prepare until my show tonight?

Maybe try to reencode your files in another format. Maybe there is some issue with your files.

Graham1061 does it only do it in Queue mode, perhaps turn Queue mode off and use a playlist instead and see if this issue is there.

You can try but I doubt a reinstallation will help. As I wrote above I can not reproduce the issue. I also got no other reports about any similar issues from any other user. So without a reproducable way to see these problems I am unfortunately not able to help.

If you find out that the issue is reproducable with a certain song, please export that song and send it to me together with instructions how to see the error.

Or maybe record a small video where I can see what you are doing before the error happens.
