Hey folks.. new to Stage Traxx and stumbled across something that may (should) be considered on the new feature radar here..
There is an App that is now free ..and is going completely Open source.. It's not even close to the capabilities of Stage Traxx but it does have the ability to nearly automate the download of Stems directly from KV.. The app is called Muzoma. Again, this is NOT to suggest it's full use as again, Stage Traxx is a very polished and full featured app.. I'd say at best, Muzoma is a stop gap with this single feature only...
I am now building my entire environment on Stage Traxx (more so, I am just doing whatever Scott Uhl tells me to do :-) ..but was looking for a way to automate the individual Stem download for each song.. Well, with some reading and testing, I am able to do this with Muzoma and even better, as it now supports the IOS File manager, you can then Send the m4a files over the air or (anyway you can) to a storage available to Stage Traxx.. Multitrack import them, quick mix etc.. and your good.. It also allows to bounce stereo to mono where you need prior importing to Stage Traxx...
Okay, so here's my thought - I mentioned that Muzoma is going 100% open source.. to speed this feature, I wonder if Peter could review that code/feature/capability and perhaps apply something like this within a future version of Stage Traxx? ...until then, the above does work (stop gap).. You can do the majority from MAC versions of the both Apps.. I'd suggest doing the KV Stem downloading from an IOS Device though as the Mac OS version is still file manager crippled and will not allow access to the stem downloads.. then Air/transfer/sync them over to the MAC OS environment for remaining processes..
Thanks for the consideration and I hope the above does help with the whole backing track process..
Peter, what a absolute killer app! OMG it changes everything! Great Job!!
Also, special call out to Scott Uhl .. man, you are THE MAN! :-) Thanks for all your content and reference!
..you are probably already aware of this (or something even better) but if not, Hit the Like below ...LoL! I have hit more like's for Scott than I've downloaded Stems ...Awesome stuff!!
