With virtual outputs, I can add in other instruments and effects for a more compact show.
Virtual outputs to use with AUM
I see the use case but you are the first to request this. So I might consider it if there was bigger demand.
Skid sorry skid i dont understand what you are talking about.
You want more virtual tracks,i assume the six stereo tracks we have now you want more of them, which then makes no sense when you say for a more compact show, i would assume you would want less of them if you want a more compact show.
I assume you need more tracks like 12 audio tracks but are happy with the existing sound output number.
Perhaps if you explain what it is you really need it might help us all to support you, because we might be needing the same thing at the moment i dont exactly understand your request.
Thanks Damir
No Damir, he is takling about virtual audio outputs that could be mixed separately in the AUM app.
Actually this can be helpful for recording, as an example. I recently bought AUM for this particular reason, but ST3 in AUM shows only stereo channels, so no recording and live playing without audible clicktrack in PA is possible currently. Or I am doing something wrong, please correct me.
Let me clarify. I have UMC404HD for stereo playback (outputs 1-2) and click (output 3-4). In theory I can connect 4 instruments into my audio interface and route them the way that they will not output thru main 1-2 outputs (all instruments are connected also to another mixer), but they will be recorded into my iPad in AUM. I want to record music (outputs 1-2) coming from ST3 and instruments (inputs 1, 2, 3, 4) but now it's not possible.
EXACTLY!
Yes as SignalProducer posted, more virtual tracks to show in AUM so that I can route the ST3 tracks AND add in onboard effects and other instruments for live performance. This may sound like a niche request but this would have huge benefits when performing loop sections of a song. Other effects and modifiers can be added in, other instruments etc.
This is supposing that ST3 is not the final app, the main app. The benefit is that ST3 code need not incorporate diverse mixing routines and simply leave that patching to another app farther down stream.
Yes, this is specifically in the way AUM handles ST3.
Hello, I had a reply from AUM people and was told that for the virtual outputs to show up in AUM the app “needs to implement Inter App Audio or provide a AudioUnit3 plugin”. So, AUM can see multiple outputs from IAA apps and AUv3 plugins!
If this is possible, i will submit a request form.
Thank you,
Skid

No, that's not possible in the current audio engine. Maybe in version 4 of Stage Traxx if the demand for it grows.
This is the reason I’ve asked you, Peter, to reimplement the AUv3 and master EQ in the multitrack output when you’ve changed the routing.
In future if there’s a way to send multi outputs to AUM that would be great
There’s also a matrrr of stability and CPU usage between both apps also iPad depending

peter I think this would make Stage Traxx absolutely lethal. It’s exactly how I’m wanting to use it. Want to use AUM to route and mix live instruments then ST to play backing tracks and control them inside of AUM all which can then be midi controlled by my keyboard or APC40. Please make virtual audio routing possible in next version
To be honest I planned on getting rid of inter app audio. Seems to me to be a very niche area used by nearly no one. Stage Traxx can already play nicely with other apps so you don't need something like AUM to use virtual instruments and ST3 on the same iOS device. And with version 4 hopefully having better AUv3 hosting capabilities, I don't see a reason for needing interapp audio.
