Multiple MIDI commands to start

Hi all,

Quick question. I play both guitar, and keyboards and switch between songs. I need to trigger the start song command from both places on stage. I often need to start song while I’m playing, so choosing the start point has been a great feature! I can use KB pedal to start song from keyboard, but can I use another MIDI pedal from guitar position to also start song? I assume it would be on a different channel.

So can I put in multiple start commands separated by commas or something?

Also, could have have one air turn device set to start, and have a MIDI control change also set? That might work.

MXStudios yes you will just need to put in the same midi message you already have set to start the song as you do for the keyboard.

Just seperate multiple midi commands with a ,. Example: [midi@start: PC1@1,PC2@2]

One action can only be triggered by one remote control command. So if you want to trigger start from an Airturn device and a midi device you need to configure your Airturn to send the same midi command as the other midi device. I believe the newest Airturn devices can send MIDI.

Since I am trying to start the song with the pedal, I can only assign the command by triggering it and not typing in the command. As you said, you can only do one. Two midi devices would have 2 different channels, so even with the same command I don't think it would work.

Luckily you have separate remote options for "start" and "start/stop" so I assigned one to the control pedal on KB and the other to the airturn device. Just have to make sure I don't accidentally stop it 🙂 .

MXStudios Two midi devices would have 2 different channels, so even with the same command I don't think it would work.

Not true, two midi devices can use the same channel. No problem if both devices should control the same thing in the destination this is exactly what you want.
