I would recommend putting your tracks through a ReplayGain program preferably 2.0 version
Options are Foobar 2000, MP3Gain (ReplayGain 1.0)
Beatunes is a Mac app but not free
Foobar 2000 is your best free option
So to give you reasons for what this is and does and why you would want it
It scans your audio files, it will then at default values makes your tracks to an average of -18db which is optimum for digital desks
The import thing to note is that FOOBAR does not have cause destructive nature to the audio file, it simply adds tags,
It merely tells STAGE TRAXX to play the file back at a specific volume and this will be reflected in your song volume at the bottom of your Stage Traxx screen.
This has great benefits as there really should be no reason to touch your volume on your tracks after this, mixing your vocals and instruments to it is the best approach
Your cable method is most likely 3.5mm to 2 split mono jacks for stereo
These types of cables are -10db
So to compensate you would add +10db on your input gain on your mixer
If you were to use a levelling plugin this is essentially a compressor with a slow attack and slow release and will sacrifice dynamics and punch in the tracks
