I am attempting to airdrop a playlist to my other iPad. I’m able to sync both iPads but when I try to airdrop a playlist it doesn’t show up in devices. There is a file that come up under people which is not a device.and I continue to get the message waiting from the people file. How do I get the other iPad to show up as a device
Need help with airdrop
Leronyoung make sure Airdrop is activated on your receiving device , top right swipe down brings up a menu , long press on the menu select airdrop activate for 10minutes.
I don’t know why you have to do this every time as it’s really frustrating but that’s apples logic.
Hope that helped.
Airdrop can work well and the. Suddenly not.
Sometimes I’m trying to airdrop something while two devices are on the same network and it won’t even see the other device or I’ll click it and nothing happens.
Sometimes I’ll have to put one of the devices on another network (we have a few at home) and then it’ll work.
I don’t know why but I always have a wired backup plan
Very strange you are having Airdrop problems , after updating everything to the latest updates I ended up having to talk to Apple to sort out airdrop issues as firstly I had failed airdrop transfers on a particular file then when we found out that problem issue we found another issue where the files would transfer from iMac to my devices but you had no idea where they went, this was never an issue before, Apple had no solution for that one, but the first issue of failed transfer I found the problem, this is something to watch out for,
I used Audacity to edit a file then I saved it but I also entered the Meta Data name and artist of song, the fact that I used a Croatian language letter š in the name of song was the reason why this file did not want to transfer, once I deleted the song meta data the AirTurn transfer of that file worked, so be aware don’t use foreign letters in your songs meta data or it might cause problems with airdrop and god knows what else.
Hope this helps someone and that Apple fix this ASP.
Cheers Damir
Airdrop usually works fine for me. I always see the popup with the incoming file and then I can choose which app to open it with or where to save it.
Maybe switching Airplane mode on and off could also help.

All good information , but as I said earlier lately I don’t get the pop up window on my devices it flashes a quick window that you can’t read as it’s too quick and then you have no idea where the file went to, I tried searching so far I haven’t found the files, one interesting thing was the file I airdropped to my iMac from my iPad transferred as expected to my Download folder and after I edited it and found the issue of why it didn’t want to airdrop back to iPad because of the š character , when it eventually did transfer without asking me where I wanted it , it actually did update that song in ST3 , so is it possible that if the same files exist in ST3 folder the updated transfer back to iPad is automated to go Straight back to ST3 folder , I think that’s wrong it should always ask where, but that’s not happening at this moment in time with all the latest updates, as I said it use to work fine not long ago.
I will do some more testing as I’ve only done it with 3 files and they all already existed in ST3 folder, perhaps a totally new file might pop up the menu I will have to try, but it’s very frustrating at the moment.
Good luck all!
