Using USB and Headphone Out on Ipad

I have tried connecting an Alesis IO2 Express usb interface to my Ipad and setting the audio routing to use Headphone and Alesis outputs by selecting the combine button in settings. However, as soon as I combine both to use effectively the additional USB outs the headphone volume drops dramatically.

Is this a bug in the software or is it perhaps a compatability issue with the Alesis?

I have power going to both the Alesis and the Ipad, otherwise the Ipad will not recognise the Alesis as it does not supply enough power via the USB connection.

Try to increase the volume with the hardware buttons.

Thanks Peter, but the ipad is on max volume and nowhere to go with that. I did think maybe there was a restriction due to testing with headphones in but the volume just goes back to normal when the combine USB and Headphone button is disengaged. Very quiet when button engaged.

I probably wont pursue it as I like the ability to change tempo and key on the fly but it would be good to know for the future should I decide to use the multitracking ability.

I know that some users reported this issue. For some it did resolve itself without me knowing what exactly they did. Personally I don't see a volume difference when the combine option is enabled.

I am having this same issue with my iPad. Has anyone discovered a solution?

No progress with me, I just use the headphone out and avoid the usb connection option.
