Here we go again with another feature release.

The most important new feature is the iCloud sync. When enabled all your data within ST3 will be uploaded to iCloud and all changes you make on one device will automatically be available on your other devices. As changes can only be tracked once iCloud is enabled, you need to make sure that you first enable iCloud on the device containing your latest changes. ST3 will ask if you want to upload your data to the iCloud, or download data from the cloud when enabling this feature. Make sure to select the upload option. On all other devices select the download option. Once setup it does not matter where you make any edits.

How to take part in testing

Anyone can participate in the beta. The beta version is installed as a separate app so that you can use the stable version in parallel. If you already participated in previous beta tests, you will get a notification about the new version in Testflight. New testers can use this link on an iOS device or a Mac to participate:

In app purchases will not bill your account. They are only test purchases, so don't be shy activating the full version.

The user manual is not adapted to the new version yet, so please feel free to ask here if you have any questions regarding the new features. I will explain some of the most important ones in this posting.

When adding songs to a playlist the dialog will highlight all songs already part of that playlist
When song numbering is active the songs in the history tab will also be numbered
Unicode flat and sharp symbols are now correctly recognized

Fixed

Changing song tempo can lead to pauses between audio regions
Lyrics only song progress pauses during user interactions
Importing songs with multitrack or pdf files fails sometimes
Highlighting issues when using unusual unicode characters like certain emojis
Detected song duration can be off by up to 0.1 seconds
Undo button in audio region editor triggers playback

Peter you have absolutely nailed it everything is fixed , using speed and Pitch is now rock solid and the bonus playhead is also perfectly following all changes with speed, I brutally tested everything without a hint of a problem, no audio dropouts

Ok, I came here 13 hours after the announcement and TestFlight is not accepting any more testers 😀

It's a bit of a chicken and egg problem here. I need to create this beta thread to link from the Testflight app to the forum but the links in this thread back to Testflight do not work as long as the app has not been approved by Apple.

So please be patient. I will comment here once the version is approved and then the registration link will also work.

24 audio regions is a nice upgrade. Songs already added to the playlist are highlighted in a different color is also a very useful feature!

Bug: Autoplay Song is not working (it stops next song from playing). iOS 14.7.1

App crashes when transfer data to cloud is selected

DickyDutch hi dicky, i believe it says in the pop up window once you select an option the software will shut down, i assume this is suppose to happen, but after that i don't know what we need to do or what to expect to happen i assume this process takes a fair time to download all the data to icloud, but I'm only guessing and im not sure if we need to do anything else to make it work, so if you have success can you let us know how you did it.
Or if anyone has got it working can you let us know how you did it.

Do you mean after the next start? Because as the dialog says, the app will terminate once you select an option. Switching iCloud on and off requires a restart.

Regarding the iCloud sync:

DickyDutch Can you confirm that you restored the backup on both devices after iCloud has been enabled? The idea is that you don't need to do that with iCloud. Just restore it on one device and the other will automatically get the changes.

Damir You are right, database changes are uploaded quickly while the songs take time. And the song upload/download only works while Stage Traxx is running and your iPad did not enter sleep mode. So waiting a night for the sync to happen will not work. You could try to refresh the song list to see if some of your red songs turned up.

But you are right, I need to give more feedback about the sync status. There is already an info in the settings view when the last sync occured but it does not say if there are still some pending transfers.

Hi Peter , i have plenty of iclud space now , on my ipad i have turned on the sync to icloud in settings and the ST3 beta just shut down, i assume this is as expected, i also selected that i want my ipad data to go to icloud i assume this will take some time as its 22gb, i then went to my iphone which had identical data on it as ipad and turned on icloud in settings and i chose this device to recieve data from icloud , all my data dissapeared as expected and now i am waiting to see what happens, is there anything i need to do to make sure icloud is working, as there is no feedback to what is happening , i cloud is a bit of a strange thing to me , so what happens in the cloud is there an ST3 file created that keeps updating and all devices get updated, how do i know if its setting itself up correctly, at the moment my iphone is blank and i have no idea what my ipad is doing ,
What do i need to do to get things rolling ?

Icloud sync.
Great news guys my iPhone is coming to life without touching a thing blocks of 200 songs are filling my song list, it looks like iCloud sync is working as i write this , its exciting ! It definitely is updating in blocks of 200 songs at a time, every minute or so,now its done all 2644 songs and has created the playlists last, it appears to work perfectly, so far , now i shall do some testing and see if i can break it, but i have a good feeling its going to be magic.

Icloud sync update,
Peter , although all my database has synced reasonably quickly between two devices and it updates the lyrics data virtually instantly i am getting both devices indicating all my audio files are missing and are in red colour but if i select a file on my ipad which is the master the red colours disappear and the song plays as normal but on my iphone all the audio files are not there all the songs are in red and missing the audio files none have come to normal life. Although all the lyrics are there and i can change lyrics data o ipad and immediately updates the iphone.
Is this due to audio files needing a lot more time to upload from ipad device to icloud and then icloud to iphone, it is a 22gb file , i am hoping this is the case and once this is complete the minor changes to a few songs will work , but i don't have any audio files on my iPhone yet, i will report if any appear but for now the song audio transfer appears kaput.
I will give it an hour or two.

Last night I created a beta version on both my iPad and iPhone and restored them both with my latest live backup - about 6gb. This morning I find that my iPhone beta version is empty! I’ll see what happens next…

I thought everything was going perfect earlier on as my slave Iphone was getting all my iPad's files 22gb worth, so i was getting prematurely excited, once it all finished it appears everything but the audio files were loaded , my Lyrics were all there and making changes in lyrics updated the lyrics , except all my iphone songs turned red and displayed a missing sign , i waited for an hour or two and still nothing, so now i am trying it again and will see but so far it appears to be doing the same thing no audio files are present, loop data and lyrics are good to go its almost like the files are being treated like they are lyrics only files.
Well good luck I'm pretty sure Peter will be all over it soon.
But I'm loving the syncing even if its only half working, its going to be a great time saver.

I have waited for at least 2 hours not one song was loaded fully , is it that all 22gb is needing to download before ST3 gets loaded with the audio files, is it like air drop? The files don’t show up till all the files are transferred.
Perhaps Being 22gb I would have to wait a much longer time , i don’t know for now it does appear no audio files are syncing.

peter I didn’t have any message - I just toggled the iCloud switch and the app crashed!

My iPhone is now filling with songs but there are still a lot of red missing ones - I will let you no what happens by this evening

No, uploads/downloads are done on a song to song basis. So you should see the first songs pop up pretty quickly. But there is indeed a problem with the red missing status. It does not automatically update yet (not sure why, need to investigate) when the song is downloaded. Therefore try to refresh the song list to see if some songs have transferred,

Peter My second test was the duplicate song feature, it appears to work but one problem is your naming of the duplicate file is bad, you should maintain the same name first then place blah blah copy1 , blah blah copy2 and so on that way the new copy version does not jump to the C O P Y in the list under C , it’s more convenient when the new file is close to the original file when you create it.

Third test was extra looping , it’s great to have the extra loops I’m sure some people will benefit, more on that later.
