Is it possible to send midi system exclusive messages in the same way as PC,Note, CC etc....
if so what is the syntax ?

thanks Tony

Unfortunately not. If the demand is there I could think about a good syntax on how to add this to the midi tags.

peter changed the title to Sending sysex midi .

peter Thanks Peter - I use a Boss GT-1000 and the best way to get fine control over effects is with Sysex.
however I do understand that if the demand isn't there it is not a high priority.

    thanks Tony

I would certainly second the sysex request.

Me too! I’m just getting a Boss Gigcaster and it looks like the only way to control it via midi is with sysex messages. I think Stage Traxx 3 and Boss Gigcaster is going to become a popular combination for solo performers and duos as it seems to have everything we need in one box.

    Me too. Would appreciate that!
I just received my Gigcaster and I enjoy the minimal setup with StageTraxx and the Gigcaster. While StageTraxx manages lyrics, chords and the backing tracks, it also controls everything on the Gigcaster - e.g. the switching of guitar patches or turning on harmony for the voice channel for verse / chorus / solo. So as the second component of my rig, the Gigcaster is my guitar effects board, my vocal effects board and of course my mixer.
Right now I have to use MidiFlow on my iPad to replace CC-Messages that is sent from StageTracks with the SysEx Messages the Gigcaster reqires. It is quite tiring to assign those things manually in MidiFlow. And I fear that this setup (Multitasking on iPad !!!) is prone to errors and malfunction.
SysEx-Messages directly supported in StageTraxx would be great!

I've just started working on automating my Behringer X32 and then hit the brakes when I suddenly remembered to check whether ST3 can send SYSEX... and found this thread πŸ™

I saw the other thread (https://support.stagetraxx.com/d/985-sysyex-send-or-workaround/3) that mentioned using MidiFlow as a workaround so that is something I'll try... but definitely mark me down as another person who really wants SYSEX support, and another reason why I can't wait for ST4! πŸ™‚ (which I know we won't see until later this year πŸ™ )

AnthonyB have a look at the mixing station app which is compatible with the x32. Don’t quote me but I’m pretty sure you can control most parameters and set whatever midi messages (PC, CC, notes etc) to what you want.

Lishy Thanks! I knew about Mixing Station as an alternative app for the X32 (and other mixers) but hadn't thought about it potentially helping in this context! I'll go check it out!
