  • New Feature Request - Pitch Change specific to a playlist

I am a new user, so perhaps there is a way to do this already.
Scenario - Sometimes I do Duo gigs with female singers and need to pitch up tracks, other times I have male singers (or just myself) singing at original track pitch. It'd be nice to be able to save the pitch changes specific to the playlist rather than having it global or doing it on the fly, or my current work-around of creating a secondary (or more) files that has the pitch change already completed. Have it work like a keyboard/guitar processor where you have amp patches (backing tracks) and you have performance patches with additional items like delay, chorus, etc.. (a specific Playlist)

montysmith99 I think that would be ideal as well if it is possible it would save a lot of time for people with different performers.
Here is my logic regarding PITCH and SPEED, any settings made in playlist only get remembered in that playlist if a song is copied from a playlist to another playlist those settings are used, but if you change these settings in song mode these settings are remembered in song mode only and are like a global setting for this song , so if you change these settings all playlist songs DO NOT change their settings but if you use this song in a new playlist these new settings in song mode are used , meaning Song mode changes are master for all songs and when used to create playlists will reflect the settings of current song mode settings but will not change in playlist mode if changed in Song mode, allowing users to determine how each individual song plays in its own playlist , giving users the ability to create specific playlists for different performance requirements ie different singers or different venues where certain songs are slower tempo as the venue requires relaxed lay back music, but the same song in another venue might work better up tempo.
Each playlist is its own master and song mode is its own master when it comes to speed and pitch,
Ok, well it would be very handy for some users I must admit I use playlists mainly and can see a benefit, but how hard is it to create and is there something more important to fix or fine tune that’s up to Peter
    Cheers Damir

I see your point. I'd rather the original track remain the original tempo and pitch (in song mode), I'd probably create a new song file if the majority of times I find myself transposing it anyway when I move it to playlists. A global pitch/speed for each playlist might be helpful to others but I wouldn't end up using it because I still have stuff I would sing in between the female singers. So, just the ability to change individual songs within the playlist without affecting any other locations would be the most helpful.

montysmith99 yes, so basically any changes made in tempo or pitch effects only that playlist song or the song mode song, any copying and placing of songs copies all the settings of that particular song/playlist setting you are copying.
I personally do all my tempo and pitch shifts in the DAW but I still occasionally need that quick tiny change , but for those that use ST3 as the main control of Tempo/pitch this logic I suggested is a lot more practical as it does work more for you and gives you great flexibility.
But can it be implemented easily is another question only Peter knows, and I am sure he is very busy right now.

Version 3.7 will allow you to duplicate songs within Stage Traxx. That means you can have different settings (like pitch and speed) while linking to the same audio file as the original song. That way you can create multiple versions without taking up additional space. I think this will solve you problem.

peter That is a reasonable solution Peter, thank you. Perhaps you can add the original feature request as a low priority in upcoming releases. It'd still be nice to have it playlist specific to avoid double/triple songs in the song list. Thank you again for your application!
