Edit Lyrics (PDF) Blank…

When I go into a track where I’ve imported a PDF, which I can see during playing, I can’t see the lyrics when I choose Edit Lyric. I’m trying to set the scroll timing for each line of the lyrics. I saw in the Scott Uhl videos how to do this and the feature looks awesome. However I can’t see anything on the Edit Lyrics UI.

Anyone else seen this phenomenon? Fix? Thank you!

profcyclist you can’t set the scroll timing for each line of the lyrics with PDF’s. You can only scroll half/full pages

profcyclist in PDF format. I’m not sure if it will with .txt files or not. You can add pdf tags per line but only for top, middle and bottom of whatever page.

profcyclist yes you need .txt format to load to lyrics editor to be able to then program line syncing using timecode, the .txt format in my opinion is the most flexible format as you can do automated line syncing you can page turn your lyrics using looping , you can get chords to auto change if you pitch shift your song , it has other advantages as well, it’s relatively simple to create as with PDFs you need to create them as well then you are quite limited afterwards.
But it’s everyone’s choice to how they run.
Once you get use to ST3 you will end up finding your best way to achieve a good on stage experience and a fast to create song.

The lyrics editor can import text from pdf files. So for simple lyrics only files like in the screenshot you could import that in the lyrics editor and then you could use line-by-line timestamping. Text formats like bold and underline are not imported though. So you will have to reformat the document in the editor.

peter OK thank you! I tried and can't get it to allow me to edit a PDF. I'll try again. Using the Lyrics import icon vs adding PDF to track?

Yes, open the lyrics editor and tap on the import icon.

peter OK thanks! I'll tinker with the formatting code for the verses and choruses. On the PDF I used bold for verses but it looks like bracketed headers in text format. I'll read the instructions!
