@peter , is it possible to open a feature request for reading replay gain values in multi track songs?
Perhaps having a toggle button in settings with disabled by default. Then if the user wants that, just enable the flag.

Thing is currently I'm setting values manually for all my songs and it's very time consuming and error prone.

This is already on my todo list for version 3.8. I figured that most people would not run their tracks through ReplayGain so that using this value during track import would not harm them.

If not asking too much, when you implement it, would it be possible to add some visual hint that you’re reading from replaygain? That makes easier to differentiate the files I have imported already with replaygain and the ones that don’t have.

Is this for all tracks (including mp3 files)?

This would work for any audio file which has ReplayGain tags. I am only aware of ReplayGain being available for mp3 files though.

Is it possible to run Foobar 2000 equalisation on the mp3s already imported to ST3 ?
I've done so much work on time-coding lyrics, that I can't afford to start importing again!

Yes, you can access the audio files directly in the Stage Traxx folder. Just open the data folder with Settings > Show Stage Traxx files. Then you can change the files directly. But ST3 will not reload the ReplayGain value automatically. You need to refresh each song one by one. So I would suggest you modify the files directly with something like MP3Gain.

So is this correct...

Do a full ST3 Backup
Apply MP3GainExpress for Mac to the ST3 documents folder, rather than Foobar 2000.
ST3 will automatically pick up the new levels.
If I don't like the results, restore the full ST3 backup which will revert the MP3 files to original levels.

peter Hi Peter - I've never run any volume normalization on my tracks because I've honestly been terrified to attempt it and thought I'd need to do this very manually. But volume variation is a huge problem in our 36-song show, especially with 6-8 tracks per song. So I'm going to attempt your idea above using MP3GainExpress. My one question is when it asks to "set the desired loudness" can you recommend a value there?

Don't run ReplayGain on multitrack songs. That does not work at all as different tracks need to have different volumes.

ReplayGain is only suited for full stereo playback files.

Hi Peter… can you provide a step-by-step description of how to normalize Stage Traxx files? I have approximately 300 songs and I am in desperate need of normalizing the volume. I need to normalize the files from Stage Traxx as many have been customized with fade outs and changed pitch etc.

Stage Traxx is on my iPad, but I also have a home PC that I could use for this normalizing process.
