Hi Peter can you please check that song list refresh function in ST 3 is working properly. I have updated the lyrics to a couple of songs using the windows MP3TAG app. I successfully copied the files from itunes ST3 file sharing and updated them in MP3TAG and copied them back, replacing the existing files. Despite refreshing the songs in ST3 the changes to the lyrics don’t show. The only solution I found is to delete the song files from ST3 then re add them. The changes then show ok. Best regards Richard.

The song refresh will only read lyrics if a song did not contain any lyrics previously. If you changed lyrics, you will need to refresh them in the lyrics editor. Here is the reason: ST3 can not determine whether the lyrics have been edited. You definitely don't want to overwrite edited lyrics while refreshing the song list.

I will add this information to the user manual.

So when editing lyrics outside of ST3, open the lyrics editor for the song and tap on the refresh button in the navigation bar. This will reload the lyrics from the file.

Hi Peter do you have any recommendations or tips on the best way to edit lyrics outside ST3? - I find that when I use Word, extra lines (blank) are inserted between the lyric lines when pasted back to ST3.

Just use a plain text editor. Like Notepad on Windows.

I am still using iTunes to add / change my lyrics. Then I sync to the iPad. Also I had noticed that a file with a changed lyric would not refresh. I deleted the song and added it back but I am afraid that would overwrite my scroll rate...etc... So you are saying that after I sync from iTunes I should open up the song details, edit lyrics and refresh?

JDSMUSIC No, not in that case. I'm afraid I forgot this use case. Stage Traxx does import songs from the iTunes library. So once imported it is completely independent. If you update a song in iTunes, it does not affect the one in Stage Traxx. I'm not sure right now how to reload updated lyrics from iTunes. I guess I will need to think about this.

what i I do is if you have another version go into text edit copy the song you want. Then past it into S.T IN SONG EDIT IT WORKS FO ME

      2 months later

Any fix for this? I just updated lyrics in iTunes for about 200 songs to have a new midi string for a new device. After syncing iTunes to iPad I see that the new lyrics are not in STrax? The songs were imported into ST from Media Library.

If I copy all the songs to google drive, could I then refresh. I know if I delete a song from ST then add it back from Media LIbrary I will get the new lyric but I would loose all my lyrics scroll rates in StageTrax.

I read a few threads on this and rechecked the users guide. Seems I can import, but I will have do do them one at a time. I recall that I can use mp3tag to extract the lyrics into files. Back on Aug 9 you said you forgot this use case and would think about a solution.

Yes, I did and I have an idea how to do it but that needs changes to the database structure and will therefore not be possible to implement before version 3.1.

The way it will work is that ST3 will store whether lyrics have been edited in the app. If lyrics have not been edited, it will reload them from the file. So in your case, all edits outside of ST3 will be loaded when you refresh the song list.

        Any timeframe on version 3.1.

        Thanks

No, it's too early for that, I just started working on that version.
