I can’t get IRig Blue Turn to connect. Stage Traxx doesn’t recognize. It connects to iPad, but it never pops up on stage traxx when I am trying to pair. Next step?
Is airturn, in video, a more dependable option. All I want pedal for is start and stop the music. Any single button pedal you recommend?!

Make sure you start it in Bluetooth LE mode by holding down the B or C button during startup. Then it will show up in the Midi bluetooth dialog in Stage Traxx.

I did that. Stage traxx no recognizing it.
I read irig manual tried all modes.

Sispence805 lights blinking blue back on forth on irig. No connection on stage traxx.
I pick mode one on irig . Blue bottom in middle blue blinks (blue tooth) stage traxx does recongnize. Try other two modes nothing.

I have a similar problem with my blueboard it just won’t connect to stage stage using the B or C buttons. I have to open the blueboard app and connect via that (pressing the A button). I think it’s a problem with my iPad though, as with my iPhone I’m able to connect to STAGETRAXX directly no problem.

    Stop the bus!

@Sispence805 is talking about the BlueTurn not the BlueBoard. BlueTurn does not support bluetooth MIDI. BlueBoard does.

BlueTurn needs to be added as a bluetooth keyboard in iPad Settings. Then it needs to be added as an Airturn Keyboard, not a MIDI device. Then the actions need to be configured within the Airturn Keyboard settings, which is accessed by tapping the (i) button at the right of the added Airturn Keyboard. Once you've entered the setup page, hit the buttons on the pedal and it should light up some of the six available assignments. Some functions like changing tempo can be set up but won't work when you're playing your songs. You get around this by buying a MIDI device such as the BlueBoard or an Airturn pedal. Start and stop of playback work perfectly--I just tested it--using the BlueTurn.

You do not assign functions where you expect them to be, which is within the Assign Actions menu. This is for MIDI pedals.

Regarding the BlueBoard, this also works correctly as long as you follow some basic setup rules:

    1. Do not use the iRig app. Delete it!
    2. Hold B down when powering up the BlueBoard.
    3. Don't concern youself with trying to find the device in iPad's Bluetooth settings.
    4. Add the device in ST3's Bluetooth MIDI Devices setup.
    5. Configure actions in the Assign Actions page. It should respond to all four buttons.
    6. Every time you load up ST3, you need to manually reconnect the device in Bluetooth MIDI Devices setup. ( @peter is this normal for Airturn pedals? )

Hope this helps. Don't skip a step. Hopefully I haven't.

My bad. @MasterAnt is spot on, except:

MasterAnt You do not assign functions where you expect them to be, which is within the Assign Actions menu. This is for MIDI pedals.

Assign Actions is also for Airturn pedals. You can assign these actions also within the Airturn setup but I find it much more convenient to assign everyting in the Assign Actions dialog.

Thank you all. Great info. Wonderful community.

Maybe there a some newer informations for me?
I just got a iRig BlueTURN to give me two more functions - but is mysterious for me. I already use an iRig BlueBOARD with stagetraxx under Bluetooth LE. The Blueboard is shown under Bluetooth devices in stagetraxx and can be configured with assigns. The BlueTURN has to be connected as a bluetooth device under the system settings - not in the app settings. Either in forscore nor in stagetraxx it can't be select as a bluetooth device - it is not shown, but is is working. When I open the iRig Blueturn in Mode 2, I can scroll pages (PDFs) in stagetraxx up or down. A function I want to have, so I am satisfied with the result, but it is not coming from stage Traxx. I suppose it is a basic command from the iPad (for "all" apps). Isn't it possible to set an other assign in stagetraxx?

The Blueturn ond Blueboard are two completely different devices. The former act as a bluetooth keyboard which just send key commands like "cursor up". And the latter is a midi device. You need to configure the Bueturn as an Airturn keyboard device in ST3 to make use of it.

You can customize your assignments in Settings > Assign Actions.

Thanks! Now I know how to do it. It works.
