APP On Mac failing to import songs properly
Deleting a song in the app should also remove the audio file. I don't need a video yet and will see if I can reproduce it myself.

Ahh, oops! Regarding removing of files, I was looking in the Stage Traxx 3 folder and not the Stage Traxx 3 Beta folder. Files are being deleted there, so that's not an issue. What fooled me was that the entire folder gets deleted after I delete all songs, so I could only see the non-beta folder.
So now only the errors during importing still remain...

I can see the problem although I'm not sure what is causing it. I will investigate it in detail.
There is a very simple workaround for this which you can always do when importing hundreds of songs:
- In ST3 go to the Settings tab and select "Show Stage Traxx 3 Files"
- Copy your files with Finder into the folder that opened in step 1
- Refresh the song list
This works both in iOS and macOS.

I found the problem. iOS and MacOS place files you want to import in a special Inbox folder where it can then be accessed by ST3. This folder is cleaned up exactly 60 seconds after you close the file selector dialog. If the import in ST3 takes longer than 60 seconds, the files are deleted by iOS and MacOS before they could be processed.
I will try to work around this problem somehow.
peter Hi Peter, I usually work on my mac Mini or Macbook, I can see how to refresh the song list on my iPad but how would I do this on my mac? I don't think I had a problem before. I chose Add Song from Local file and it did not add the song from my hard drive. I then drop and dragged the song into the ST3 Data Document folder where all my other songs are but think I need to refresh the song list but not sure how to on my mac.
Max and iOS work the same. So you need to scroll to the top until you see the refresh indicator.
peter Hi guys, can’t that be automated, surely once you add something new to the ST3 folder it should do the refresh procedure automatically so we don’t have to scroll 3000 songs to beginning to then refresh.
It is obvious we have added something to the folder so it obviously needs a refresh so just do it and don’t bother us with it we have music to think about.
Im just pointing out the obvious but I already know the answer , the operating system doesn’t work that way.
peter I think I may have found a work around for this problem and it's by using the "Open With" option when right clicking on the song I want to import on my mac. It then opens the song in ST3 which is what I wanted, then I can edit it and add lyrics etc. in the normal way. Out of curiousity should I be able to refresh the song list on my mac or is that just a feature on the iPad? Many thanks :-)

Damir I found a mac work around. Not sure if the Add Song via "local and cloud" option is working as it should but I don't think this is an ST3 issue, maybe as I save my songs on my mac in an external drive. But my work around is OK so I can do as I need. Do you have similar issues?
peter Scanning a large folder for changes would slow down app startup too much. Therefore the on demand scanning whenever you need it.
I am out of my depth when it comes to how the operating system works , but if I designed an operating system it would have the brainpower to only update itself when it senses a change in the file system so if there is no additional files placed or removed from ST3 folder it acts normally but as soon as I have added or removed a file it auto activates the rescan process to update the software, this would definitely speed up the user operational processes as it’s instant and something that has to happen no matter what as if it’s not done it just confuses the inexperienced user in which case most of us.
It’s a process that should not exist to the user and should be automated, but I don’t know anything about the operating system so I can’t comment on what’s possible but I have been around computers since their birth and I have used them constantly in actual fact I have 14 computer screens surrounding me at work and there is one computer we use that is very old still doing a job really well and no one has managed to write a program that can replace it to this day, it proves to me it’s the way you program things that’s very important and the operating system should not be a limitation to the creative process to deliver a useful outcome.
Hi Peter. I have done a full backup on my Imac and exported It by airdrop to my Macbook. Now when I click in the the file there are no MP3 songs in it?
A full backup always contains all files. You restore the backup by going to Stage Traxx settings and tapping on "Restore backup".
You can restore the purchase within Stage Traxx settings an as many devices as you have running with your AppleID.
