peter OK, im just wonderring is it in the impossible category or is it maby posibble if you had time, the reason i ask is when you are quickly creating an order of songs in a playlist it would be very fast to be able to scroll down the playlist and keep on choosing songs that are apropriate for next gig then just drag them to the apropriate area of the playlist so then they can be rearranged singly, otherwise you are forever scrolling back and forth through hundreds of songs to arrange the next gig.
The way i run is very simple, i use SONG MODE as my overall storage for all my music needs, i use PLAYLISTS as single GIGS, this i found to be the most efficient for me as playlists are very powerful once you have them you can quickly reuse them for other similar gigs and you always have the option to have a ROCK , WALTZ, etc playlist handy in a good song order so if an emergency arrives where your pre organized playlist for that gig turns out totally inapropriate you can always jump to the style of music that suits and run free from there.
I create my gigs in one playlist which contains all my songs in the order what suits this particular gig, i normally perform 8 to 16 songs in a set and i normally might do 3 to 5 sets depending on the gig.
To create my gigs all my playlists contain all my songs, a bit like some people i noticed like using SONG MODE because its simple, but this only gives them 1 playlist that might contain thousands of songs, this to me is very inoficient, and has a lot more disadvantages than advantages, so i create multiple playlists that contain everything i need within them, one main reason is my foot control of selection of next songs becomes a lot more efficient and simpler.
The reason i preffer playlists then queue mode is i have full control of the evening using remote controls without leaving this playlist and i can always repeat a song if needed without leaving the playlist, i can remotely search for any song i perform without leaving the playlist, i can create an order i preffer to perform on the night and still be able to go to any song at any time without leaving the playlist, the positives just keep adding up, so thats why i was wondering if there is any chance to grab a group of songs and slam them down in to a particular spot in a playlist so you dont have to keep on moving things around in a single fassion, efficient prep work means a lot to a person that likes to spend more time creating new material to perform then rearranging old material.
But if its impossible i understand , i thought id let others know how i run incase they havent thought about more efficient ways to run, im always interested in better ways to do things especially if it saves me time.
Cheers Damir, i hope looping hasnt sent you LOOPY!🤪
