peter yes thats a work around but why is it happening and how can it be fixed is the guestion, i have had this happen every so often and i dont know why, i am very careful with my song creations and my file system , yet i am every so often presented with this problem, why is this possible?
Because i run duplicate devices for safety i was able to copy and transfer this song file back to my master ipad and load my time synced lyrics with chords from my NOTES database where i keep all my lyrics/chords with timestamps.
But if i didnt have a reliable backup plan i would have lost my song and the only way to recover the song would be to restore my full backup assuming this song was a part of the last full backup, this is not a great way to run.
I should be able to remove duplicate songs using the same song file and not loose the actual file itself.
Itunes has a similar system except it asks you do you just want to remove the song from your pllaylist or do you also want to remove the song from your itunes library itself, perhaps we need the same option to simplify deletion of duplicates using the same song file.
