iPad Mini 4
ios 11.1.2
Used ST3 for three gigs with no incidents. Prior to the first gig, I prepped ST3 on my iPad Pro 11, created a backup, then copied the backup to my iPhone 8 and to the Mini 4, and used the Mini 4 for all three gigs. This is my review, it’s not much, but since the app is simple to use and inherits much from ST2, I don’t think a review on every feature is warranted:
Though I had to change my workflow, it wasn’t by much. The only thing I like more in ST2 is that I can select volume between song or playlist by tapping an icon. In ST3, I have to go into Setup to select song/device.
The midi commands works the same in both versions. I use it to send PCs and CCs in real-time to toggle harmonies in my TC Voicelive 3, switch between Acoustic, Clean Electric, Distortion Electric, vocal delay on/off, and audio volume on my Behringer XR18. I don’t do much pedalboard tap dancing anymore.
I like that I can easily add a song on the fly to the queue. In ST2 I had to either change playlists or add a song to a playlist.
As mentioned above, I don’t like that I have to go to Settings to select song/device volume.
When double tapping a song to make it the next song in the queue, I would rather see the queue scroll to the top rather than staying at the selected song’s previous position.
Other than that, my workflow is really simple once the gig starts.
Thanks Peter for continued support of a great product!
BTW, I decided to use iTunes for break music. I may add a Break playlist in the future but I’m still debating that.
