Would it be possible to have the numbers as well as the letters of the alphabet vertically along side the song list? This is so that if you're in the list area where all the songs starting with the letter "B" are and you wanted a song that starts with the letter "W", you just touch the "W" on the vertical number/letter list and you're instantly in the "W" section. Just like how it works in the Contacts App. I'm having to swipe quite a bit and often overshoot when locating a song. It would also help if like the IOS keyboard, each letter magnifies as you touch it. It doesn't have to be smooth, slick and animated like on IOS itself just have it pop up bigger. Thanks.

What do you mean by song list? The queue? If yes, then I can't do that because the queue is not sorted alphabetically.

The song list already has the alphabetical index on the side.

Hi Peter. I’ve been trying this app out at gigs. Maybe it’s because I am used to the old version, but swiping to add songs to the queue seems counter-intuitive. You have to swipe, then press the add button. This gets tiring after a whole night of adding 60 songs. It is much more natural (and similar to the old version) to just tap (or double tap) on the song to add it to the queue. I think the swipe should be used to edit the songs and tap should be used to add the songs to the queue.

Swipe all the way to the right, not only until you see the buttons. Then it will be immediately added to the queue. The tap is already used to edit a song.

This long swipe does work very nicely and is just one fluent motion. But I will try if double tap works equally well.

peter swiping is just not as natural as a motion as tapping. When you are in your bedroom it is fine. But on stage in a live enviornment it is quite different. It take so much more effort to swipe all the way left to right. And you have to do this 60 times in one night. I’ve swiped the wrong song before. In my opinion, the way you selected songs in version 2 was perfect. No need to fix something that wasn’t broke.

rumbakid I will think about ways to streamline the process of playing songs / adding songs to the queue.

peter That would be great. Also, would it be possible to import PDF’s into the lyric window? (For those of us who read sheet music or charts with our tracks.)

rumbakid Not in version 3.0, but this is something I want to add in future.

peter Ok no prob. The fact that version 3 works with split screen is very helpful!

Maybe I’m missing something. Is the queue facility to make the app more compatible with Ipone.
Vers.2 on IPad is way more user friendly for live gigs.Call up Playlist ,Select song,Lyrics are displayed, hit play, and away we go.
              Cheers Barry

Well, I don't see a big difference. It's still call up a playlist (swipe to the right), select song (swipe to the right), hit play and away you go. Only difference is, that the lyrics are not immediately displayed. I guess I should add a setting to automatically open the big player when you hit play.

              Hi Peter,

I downloaded the beta version and I must say that I like the UI of version 2 a lot better. It's nice looking, big icons and labels, everything seems perfect and logical. Setting it up was easy peasy 🙂

The I only things I was missing in version 2:
              - customising the lyrics colors
              - Unicode support for lyrics
              - Importing/exporting to Google Drive

Version 3 looks graphically boring to me and the functionality is for some reason not logical.

              I hope this helps 🙂

              Kind regards,

I just updated to this version and imported my playlists from my iTunes Library. Where/How do I turn on the LYRICS page? In setting I have it set to AUTO SCROLL , FIXED WIDTH FONT, CENTERED FONT. I am running on and iPad Air.

              Thanks
              JD

JDSMUSIC Add songs or playlists to the queue by swiping them to the right and a mini player will open at the bottom of the screen. Tap song title of mini player to open the lyrics view.

Btw, the next update is unfortunately taking much more time than anticipated. I had to overhaul big parts of the database code due to the bugs noted in the build 2267 posting. I hope that these issues are now finally fixed.

I have added backup and restore functionality. Importing version 2 backups is currently in development. I hope to have it working and release a new update by the end of the week.

I have originally planned to release version 3 in April but it seems like I will not manage to keep this date. Especially because there is so much criticism with the new user interface. I will take the time to improve on this where possible. One thing I will not be able to do is to use the old screen layout. It is simply not possible to use that layout with an app that has to work on both iPad and iPhone. The old fixed layout was also not able to use all available space on the iPad pros.

So an extra TAP after hitting play.. not good. Can you create a new setting in the Lyrics section "Auto Show Lyrics on Play"? After using StageTrax for five years it will be hard to remember to do this...

Thanks, that would be GREAT! Also, I was importing my files at approx 380 tracks of 482 I think I ran out of storage space....it just crashed. I went to iPad Settings and deleted unneeded apps and data and got a GIG back. I then tried to import Playlist files (All Tracks) and it appears that it did not pickup where it left off, but started over...after about 10 files it crapped out again. I think I need to deinstall ST3 and re-install and start over? What do you think?

                Thanks Again!
