I touched on this in some other topic, but today I found this wasted a lot of time, and the process is prone to making mistakes. I don't edit lyrics in ST3. All my MP3s and Lyrics are combined prior to importing them into ST3.
Today I added colour tags to my inline chords for about 24-songs.
I find it intuitive to use the built-in + symbol to load up new songs, but because most of those songs already exist in my ST3 library, I am supposed to replace the files in the ST3 folder instead. That's what I have an issue with for two reasons:
Only for this process, I have to use a separate program to do a very basic and fundamental job. It's a few more steps (especially when updating tracks on a primary and backup device) to open up Files app, locate the source folder (requires a bit of thinking when it's on a cloud drive), choose the files, try find a way to get the COPY option to come up (not that easy on iOS), then try find the ST3 folder and really try hard to find a way to pop up the PASTE option (which doesn't work well when you're using LIST mode.) Then, and here's the part that's prone to making mistakes, I might have opened the lyric editor in ST3 at some point for a particular song which means that my new lyrics would not apply after refreshing the list.
It's so easy to use the built-in + (add songs) if the songs don't already exist. If it's just one or two songs, I typically delete the song first from the songs list then use the + and import the updated version. It's not so easy with 24 (or 84 another time) because when a song already exists in ST3, adding it again (or an updated version) just does nothing without any message. If I add 24 and 22 already exist, 2 will be added and 22 won't be updated.
Does the default behaviour have to be like this—to just do nothing with the songs I'm trying to replace? Is it not possible for the program to realise I'm trying to replace a song and actually replace it, or pop up with a notification that songs with this name already exist (just as the Files app does) so all your edits will be deleted, etc. confirm overwrite yes/no?
Thanks
