Hi All, i found some things that frustrate me when prepping my ST3, can you confirm my frustration one way or the other as its starting to really annoy me the more i use the system.
I know these frustrations might seem minor but i would like smoother/faster operation when prepping, performing setup is smooth i feel the prepping needs work.
Here it is.
I really hate it that i cant quickly test a track in SONG mode to simply hear it without any changes, i like my setup for performance to remain in tact but i dont want that when i am just testing songs to do something with them, i would like a quick way to sample a song in song mode.Either a small play button on every song line when the small player is open , so you can just touch the song and hear it, or if the small player is open the auto action to open the large window is disabled in this mode allowing the play button just play that song without any changes.Or any other idea that gives me quick sample play of Songs in SONG mode.
Another frustrating thing is when you are in ST3 folder and find a song you want to play or see in ST3, at the moment if you open this song ST3 gets opened but this song is not chosen on screen as you would expect, if a song is playing in ST3 and you choose a song in ST3 folder if the option of this folder is set to ST3 then it should load this song as the next song and when it opens the now playing ST3 it sould be in the middle of the screen highlighted in yellow as the next song, it should be presented to you in ST3 because obviously this is what you want to continue to work with, why would you want ST3 to just open in the last state it was in , its just pointless.
If ST3 is not playing and you do the same procedure as before the newly selected song in ST3 folder should open ST3 and the song should be in the middle of the screen and highlighted as the now playing song ready for a start command or anything else you want to do with this song.
At the moment ST3 gets opened but has no relationship with the song you have chosen in ST3 folder, it does nothing to create a smooth workflow.
When creating lyrics with chords above, entering timecode is very frustrating, having to stop/ start every line to manually skip a line to the next chord line.
This has been a thorn in my foot since ST3 birth.
Why cant the software be automated to skip a line every time a combination of lyrics/chords lines is found. If no chords line is above a lyrics line no skip is applied, if no lyrics line is below a chords line no skip of line is applied, but if you have a chords line with lyrics line a skip of that next lyrics line only is applied, this process would eliminate having to keep stop/starting throughout the whole song. If no lyrics or chords are present in a line it is automatically skipped.
Now this would greatly improve prepping time.
Thats it for now there are other things but i will leave it here for now, please help me if you have found fast efficient solutions to my frustrations.
Cheers Damir
