Song autoplay not working in 3.5.1 (7515)

After noticing this on my iPhone, I tested song autoplay on my iPad which had the previous release. Song autoplay worked before updating, but immediately after updating it stopped working.

MasterAnt yes, mines not working either which was a problem at tonight’s gig, it just span through a load of songs and stopped. Had to revert back to one song at a time. Grrrrr. Is it the update that’s caused it?

Oh yes you are right. The quick fix in version 3.5.1 broke Autoplay. Seems like 3.5.2 will be coming very soon.

It does work if you disable "Waveform seek during playback". Enabling the option has the same problem as autoplay. This is definitely caused by the code changes for fixing the freeze bug.

peter when opening app in song mode small player mode a song selected to play with open lyrics view when in play enabled , hit play, you will notice the song does not play it opens the large screen with lyrics and the wrong song is displayed but it also does not play it is in ready mode.
Once reactivated it seems to work untill you exit the app and reenter again it will not play the first song properly again.

peter more problems probably related.
Stop/Play button set in PAUSE mode not functioning properly,
Play a song when you hit stop it just jumps to next song no pause capability.

When you exit the program then enter it again the last view settings arent remembered it always diverts to song mode with small player layout, the now play song position is dropped down the screen and if you hit play it starts the song temporarely and goes to large screen stops play and changes to different song.
The way it is now is not usable on stage it has to many important area bugs .
I would rather have the previous version to perform with, fortunately i dont have any gigs right now otherwise it would really effect me.

Everything is related. The root cause for all these problems is the change I made to prevent playback stopping when switching master effects. This introduced the freeze bug. And the change in 3.5.1 that fixed the freeze bug created all these effects.

I have not yet found a way to fix it while still keeping playback running when switching master effects.

Finally I had my eureka moment and got it fixed in a way that hopefully did not break anything. Tried Autoplay on/off with/without crossfades, manual crossfades and switching master fx. So far so good. Version 3.5.2 is uploading to the AppStore. I hope Apple will approve it very soon and I really hope we are back to stable playback again.

thiswoodeno v3.5.2 just came up in my app store (Australia). A quick test confirmed my issue to be resolved. The Play button in all three modes seems to be working too.

thiswoodeno I‘m sorry this happened. I wanted to rush update 3.5.1 and thought that the small change I made would not have any side effects. So I only did. very limited testing. This is completely my fault.

Version 3.5.2 is now available everywhere.

peter it all seems to be working now with limited testing, I suppose this is a good lesson for all users really dependant on ST3, don’t update too quickly wait for a while especially if you got gigs coming up.

If you depend on an app, no matter whether it is Stage Traxx or something else I always recommend to turn off automatic updates and update to a new version when it is about a week old. Usually critical bugs are detected and fixed within a week.
