What folder contains the lyricfiles?

Hi everybody,

I‘m quite new to StageTraxx and the question occured to me how I can exchange single songs with lyrics with an another iOS-device.
I found the mp3-files in the StageTraxx-folder on my ipad but no lyric-files. Are the lyrics embedded in the mp3s? That would make me wonder why it didn‘t work out.
I would be glad if someone of you could help me out.

Thilo Hi Thilo, unfortunately the only way to get your lyrics out of ST3 is not what you and i expect, the full backup will give you just that everything on another device if you are useing another ST3 on that device, but if you only want the lyrics data, or specific songs lyrics data you will have to go to each songs lyrics editor copy and paste this data to a text file editor like notepad or pages then save it as a file , then transfer this file to you new device then open it in the program you want.
I know this is a pain, and i have asked to why we cant have all lyrics only files like pdfs files with a dedicated folder, Im sure Peter has thought about this and maby if its possible might give us this ability but it might be too hard in which case we will have to do things the long way.
Im sure Peter will be more helpful.

Stage Traxx does not modify your audio files. All lyrics edits are stored in the database. So currently there is no way to get a single song transferred to another device. Only all songs like Damir mentioned but that will wipe the other device before restoring the backup.

I will make a TODO to think about this. Maybe I can find a way to move one or more songs to another device.

peter sugestion without programing knowledge.
What if when you create a lyrics only song and enter text in editor a text file is created in THE DATABASE AND LYRICS ONLY FOLDER at the same time, the two are maintained in sync as long as you keep the same name of the ST3 Lyrics only folder text file name it updates this file if you change the name of the text file a new file is created next time you update or edit this text in the song.
This will always work with database but will also provide users an exact copy of the text file and keep it in a logical ST3 SONG folder as expected for users to be able to copy all or some text files to use whichever way they want.
This means you can keep all you song text files in a folder but only the lyric text files that are loaded through the text editor will have updatable text files using ST3 Lyrics editor.
Keeping all song text files neatly in one accessable folder yet not upsetting the already well working database system.

Looking at it another way for a totally new purpose like AUTO CUE function.
You create a lyrics only song file, the actual song name becomes your auto cue projects name like (Peters First Video) load in the required text select the reading time you require for auto scrolling, save the text in the editor which also creates a text file in ST3 folder called Lyrics Only folder and a text file is automatically created in parallel with the database file called (Peters First video) , now if you need this file or any others just go to ST3 Folder , Lyrics only folder and presto you have access to all your created text files.
Ok looking at it another way, you have lots of song text files on another device and want to use them possably not all at once but would like to have them available to use in ST3 at some stage when you do create the audio files, you simply copy and transfer to the ST3 LYRICS ONLY folder all the text files, now you have access to them as you need them to simply load them in to the text editor and as you manipulate the text file in the editor and save the file as long as the song name and the text file are the same it updates this text file if the song name is different to the text file loaded it will create a new file in the st3 lyrics only folder with that songs name.
This gives us text manipulation power and a system that allows us to be much more useable for any purposes, auto cue, song text or whatever our imagination can come up with.
It just works for us instead of limitting us and forcing us to use the software in a very narrow way.

I would also like to see an import/export a single song. (MP3's + Lyric) to move a song from computer A to Flash Drive to Computer B. import song to playlist. I have a feeling I won't be able to fit a full backup on a Flash Drive.
Where's the Playlist Folder?

All I can find is Library/Containers/de.dikant.... etc/////Data/Documents/Multitrack-Files
So, I guess there's no way to move one song from one computer to another and add it to the 2nd computer playlist?

Transferring one or more songs with all settings and lyrics is already in the works for version 3.6 🙂

There is no playlist folder. Playlists are stored in the database.

To open the song folder, go to settings and scroll down to "Show Stage Traxx 3 Files...".

The files you see are the plain audio files. They do not contain edited lyrics or midi or any other settings. You can transfer them to another device, but you would need to recreate all your settings.

So currently the only way too sync two devices is with a full (or database only if you have no new audio files) backup.

Version 3.6 will then add the transfer of one or more songs. And version 3.7 will feature full iCloud sync.
