Hi Peter, I am having trouble clearly understanding certain setting features in audio routing, and when referring to on line manual it does not clearly explain the features.
Issue 1
Combine usb & headphone switch, where is this clearly shown in the block diagram?
If i have an older devices that have physical headphone outputs i assume this will work at the same time my main stereo output works if this switch is active, but what happens if i have a new ipad with headphone out on the same connector the main out is on meaning i can only connect either main out or headphones on to ipad how is this switch useful for new devices?
Issue 2
You have a Main output and Auxiliary output selection below that, if I choose Speaker, there are no further options and I can’t turn off the speaker option, so what is the purpose of this area, and where is this clearly explained in manual?
Issue 3
In online manual audio routing block diagram output stage description is very poor,
I am going to suggest a clearer option that’s if I am correct in assuming this is how it works, so correct me if I’m wrong.
1 you have a main output, I assume this is the actual DEVICE MAIN STEREO OUTPUT if it is why not call it that.
2 Audio bus, what does that mean to a musician? i believe USB DEVICE MAIN STEREO BUS using Track 1&2 in DAW as description clearly explains its operation and destination requirement.
And a further improvement for easy diagram reading I would drop that down below the device main output closer to its auxiliary partner and multitrack menu relationship.
3 Auxiliary bus? USB DEVICE AUXILIARY STEREO BUS using Track 3 & 4 in DAW.
This resides just below its partner in the block diagram and clearly gives you all information to setup your DAW
4 a label is required on the block diagram Multitrack routing switch so a person can easily relate this switch with the actual software function.
I hope my understanding of operation is correct , ITS INCORRECT! will rewrite soon!
Cheers Damir
OK after a different look at the block diagram i think i need to rewrite my post,
So please ignore point 2 and 3 i will rewrite this with a different understanding and will provide a block diagram of my understanding to clearly explain.
Sorry I’m still confused, is the main output of device feeding it’s internal speakers or is it the same as the headphone output or is it the main usb stereo output, can we have an absolutely accurate block diagram describing the routing of ST3.
