Airturn DIGIT3 help and warning

Hi all , i have just discovered when using AIRTURN DIGIT 3 STOP/START button that use to work perfectly last gig now on start it activates an audio track from MUSIC software, when i open MUSIC i see no playing indication of the music player it appears to be in a STOP state and if i hit the bottom black play button it starts the selected song and both songs play at the same time, the first mystery song is not displayed and if i hit stop again the selected song stops but the mystery song still plays, now if i hit the upper RED play button in MUSIC the now playing mystery song stops and is replaced by playback of the now selected song,this now can be stopped by the bottom black play button, i know tis sounds ridiculous and is probably an APPLE issue , but it gets worse when you try to use ST3.
If nothing is playing and i open ST3 with DIGI 3 all connected and working on ST3, if i press play the mystery song in MUSIC starts to play as well as the ST3 track thats selected all my commands appear to work in ST3 except i have two songs playing one by ST3 and one by MUSIC if i open MUSIC it appears it is not playing at all if i manage to turn off the mystery song and keep the ST3 song playing if i press stop to end ST3 song the blody Mystery Song in MUSIC starts up .
So rendering my remote useless.
I tried the six different modes of remote operation with no luck, i dont know what i possably have done to rock the boat as i have done nothing different, but i have recently upgraded my os system on all my apple devices and i am fully up to date with ST3.
Has anyone else experianced this confusing issue?
My Airturn STOMP 6 works as usual on the ipad its just the DIGI 3 that plays this blody random mystery tracks from MUSIC APP WHICH I WISH I COULD DELETE FROM THE IPAD ALL TOGETHER.
I tried to upgrade my DIGIT 3 but it says its up to date.
Any ideas?
And if you are using a DIGIT 3 please double check it before your next gig as it might have a similar issue if youve upgraded to OS 15.2 recently.

Ive spoken to apple support of course they are blaming Airturn.

Try a different operating mode. It seems your Digit is setup to send multimedia commands. Select another mode. That should fix this issue.

peter have done that, all six modes no difference, I’ve exited ST3 and totally deleted the MUSIC software when I hit start a phantom song still plays and the only place I have these songs is in ST3 folder, I have no control of what songs play as I have no software running, if I fire up ST3 the remote works as expected except it starts this phantom song in background as well if I quick press the start only the phantom song plays but if I hit the start button with a slight longer push ST3 plays as expected if I quick press the stop the phantom song stops and if I delay the stop push ST3 stops, so I can actually make it so it bounces from one song to the other with no means to stop playback this is totally weird.
I have loaded Music again with no songs in library using its buttons it seems to have no affect on stopping or starting anything as it has no files , I believe the remote immediately starts a song in my ST3 folder without any control or ST3 being opened, I am about to remove ST3 from my IPad so I won’t have any song files to see what happens, and then I will reinstall ST3 backup to see if the problem reappears, this is really frustrating as my AirTurn STOMP 6 is still working as expected it’s just the DIGI 3 that’s gone spastic on me and it coincides with latest updates of both OS and ST3 somethings upset my hand remote. I have checked it’s triggers and it all appears correct in ST3 it just also instantly triggers some unknown destination.
It really smells like apple update has fudged it up again.I will call them again today but all you get are phone people with no clue.
When I first setup the DIGI 3 it was easy to setup and worked as expected now it is unusable I have checked updates for it but it’s up to date if you can trust the update system.
So somebody has stuffed up any bets out of 4 suspects?

Hi all I have just done a test of DIGI 3 remote on my Mac and my IPhone 11 all running the latest and same software IT WORKS FINE THERE 😁 but not on the iPad 😩 where I need it most?

I have another issue with this little beast, I can’t make it continually scroll to select next song I have to push the button manually now this is fine if you just want to jump a few songs but if you need the 300th song and you are sitting on a 5th song you might as well not use the remote.
I’ve tried the settings in the device settings and have enabled auto scroll and set the 2 time settings but not one device responds using ST3, is it possible ST3 is not fully compatible with the DIGI 3 because the same setup on my STOMP 6 works perfectly?

FOUND THE PROBLEM PETER!
And if you chose no 1 in the quiz you would be a winner.
TRAP FOR BETA TESTERS, DONT ENABLE AIRTURN SUPPORT ON BOTH SOFTWARE PACKAGES TURN OFF THE BETA OR ELSE YOU WILL END UP IN THE SAME PICKLE I DID USING DIGIT 3 , It makes sense now but i did not expect the digit 3 would activate the beta st3 if it wasnt open, WRONG!
This little beast is so gutsy it hooks up to both versions and operates them even when shut down WOW what a reliable beast just turn it on and it just works.Not so good if you are running two versions of ST3 and you dont realize this. It took some cofusing research Apple couldnt explain, Peter was on the right track but that wasnt the issue, i was bambuzled for a few days but i found the reason so to all you beta testers out there DONT LEAVE THE BETA VERSION AIRTURN SUPPORT SWITCH ON IF YOU ARE ALSO USING THE NORMAL VERSION OF ST3 TO PERFORM WITH AND YOU ARE USING A DIGIT 3 remote control.

Hi Peter , i tried to recreate the problem i was experiancing without luck i cant make it do what it did, now the beta performs as expected, if it is open and the main program is open with both Airturn system switches on yes both get controled, this is expected but now if i shut down the beta it does not still respond to the remote like it did before even with AirTurn support turned on on both ST3s, so i dont really know why it went in to this unusual spazm, perhaps it had something to do with updates or a particular way i switched the options, i dont know all i can say it was very frustrating havig it play instantly with the remote without it beeing open it was very confusing specially when MUSIC seem to override it if you used the top red play button yet the bottom black play button seem to be addative , because the beta was not open it really appeared that the music program was the culprit, perhaps keep it in mind if someone else gets stuck.

Remember: switching from one app to another app does not terminate the inactive app. It remains running as long as iOS thinks it needs to keep running. As a developer I can not force quit an application when switching to another app and in most cases it does not make sense.

Just make sure you quit apps you don't need in the task switcher. Rebooting the iPad will also take care to close any apps running in the background.

Now that explains why the problem went away I think I did not reboot the iPad till towards the end of my realisation that it was the beta playing in the background,
All good now I like the way ST3 reliably runs that gives me confidence on stage and obviously improves my overall performance.
This is a good thing to know for those beta testers running on the same device.

OBSERVATION
You could use this to an advantage if you for some reason want to run two iPads and easily bounce between them using one remote button mind you that remote would only do this usefully for some functions as it would constantly control both devices but it does work really well if it’s a thing you require , one as a live performer the other as a DJ you just hit the one button to easily swap to the other device to take over without missing a beat.You could constructively use mix and audio mute on this remote as it would easily mix and hand over control to the other device.
The way to set it up would be on start you play both devices and then manually stop play on one device this puts them out of remote control sync so as you hit stop on one it does a start on the other this also works on mix you can mix from one song to a pre determined song on the other so think of it as a very efficient swap or hand over from one device to the other, this could be very useful for some users.
