AdamOkin hi Adam, there is a simple safety rule to go by when using high powered speakers i have always used and after 40 years of performing have only blown components up rarely they normally died of old age.
That is, Always turn your amps down to Zero on power up of system maximize your sound source ie mixer, ipad make sure your sound is clean with no distortion and even then leave some headroom then turn up your amps to fill the room to maximum level you require and then leave those faders alone for the rest of the evening turn down the level on your mixer, ipad to your normal performance level , now you are safe, if you need a bit more gain you can safely turn up the mixer, ipad to maximum and it will not bow your components due to distortion or overload as you have created a safety barrier.
When you turn off your system the first ting is to turn down your power amps volume then the mixer, Ipad volume then turn off the power amps power then the mixer, ipad power,
If you do this every time with your sytem i can guarante you will have a much longer life span of your speakers they might even die of old age instead of bad operational habbits.
Hope this helps.
