peter aha thats probably why i chose to buy a yamaha Tyros than a roland as it was more logically layed out and simpler to use.
Ive never bought a Roland product purely for those reasons their products were good just messy to use due to lacking in consistant logic.
Yamaha maitains consistant logic Roland is not very good at it.
My logic is simple.
The function should not need to be labeled if simple logic is used..
Qustion, what are you doing when you press something, turning it on or off.
What is a universal logic of something beeing on
It normally is highlighted like a light switch is normally lit up when you turn it on.
A audio track turned on should be lit up to indicate its on and dimmed when off, we dont need to know what and how this is done, visual feedback is very important.
The fact its a mute switch thats been enabled has no relavance to us its what we actually finally doing and what we need to see is whats important.
IF you removed the lable TRACK MUTES so people only had buttons to push i can guarantee you, you would find most people would easily work out whats going on using simple universal logic.
Most people would be confused by the logic it is using now.
All power points all around the world show you a red mark or are lit up when on.And not lit up or highlighted when off.
Thats why yamaha is doing very well i find all their products are very logical even products designed 40 years ago were well in advance in that respect.
Whats more important to you on stage whats muted or what is actually going to sound to the audiance at a few thousand watts.
