fianoman totaly agree with you i thought the same thing especially after using it for a long time l just havent mentioned it as there are a lot of other things to sort out.
I dont mind yellow as get ready like in traffic lights its just that its too bright compared to the blue.
In actual fact the now playing song should be the same colour as the play button that is green meaning you press this green to go button you get the green to go song you have selected.
And the yellow means get ready to go next just like all the traffic lights , very logical and i think the geen would stand out more.
The purple already played songs could be darker so it doasnt stand out as much as the other two as its there as a hint it doasnt need to dominate the view as it does.
And the place holders should definitely be a different colour to be destinguished between normal backing tracks and text files.
Perhaps a simple other fix is just brighten up the blue to stand out from the yellow and make the play button the same colour as the blue of the now playing song.Still more logical and perhaps simpler to fix and everyone that is use to blue as now playing song dont have to adjust their brains.
Just had anoter good look i think the play button green would be the best option for now playing song as it stands out nicely and would definitely bring out the now playing song more then the yellow .
The issue is the blue is the same colour family as the purple and when you get your set list with all the already played songs in purple surrounding it, it makes the now playing blue song dissapear, while the green of the play button is the same colour family as the yellow next button and because there is only one yellow line to compete with would stand out a lot more being surrounded by purple it would still stand out a lot more because it is a different colour family.
So to conclude this small issue i would preffer a green now playing song just like the play button giving it a lot more logical operation and easier to see the now playing song.
The end Amen.
