Free Version limitation

Trying to create a new ‘lyrics only’ song today and I got the pop-up "Free Version Limitation, you can restore previous purchases or buy the full version through settings - in App purchases". I am still on ST3 (have been for years) and have no desire to change. I haven’t changed any settings that I am aware of since yesterday when I created a couple of tracks with backings.

Can you advise as to what action I can take please?

We were getting this message a lot on mixer station recently, are you logged in to your apple account as the person who purchased ST?

I’m not sure how to check that. I haven’t knowingly altered anything since yesterday.

Try to restore your purchase. If it does not unlock the full version, you purchased it with a different AppleID. You would need to find out which AppleID that was and switch to that AppleID. All purchases in the AppStore are tied to a specific AppleID.

It’s probably apple..

Mixing station changed the verification process recently, when users were being asked to log in to apple at the most inopportune time, maybe it’s affecting other licensed apps ?.

Kevtyler That might be. I had to add a workaround for this to ST4 about a month ago to not lose the license on a gig when you are offline. That workaround is not present in ST3. But @Ocheye is online. So I assume it is really a different AppleID that was used for the purchase.

I think the chap at MS had to apply two fixes, he was getting bombarded with similar messages to this one, even after the first fix, I think the license for MS lives on your pad rather than on apples system, not sure.

I’m getting more confused by the minute. I have 2 Apple IDs. One is an old btopenworld one and one is a Mac one - in other words 2 different emails. They both have the same password.

I am assuming, because it was a long time ago, that ST3 was purchased with the earlier ID but I could be wrong. I have no idea how I can check this.

As far as I’m aware, this situation has happen randomly but I must rectify it before tomorrow’s performance, if at all possible.

I have no idea where to begin.

Where do I find the original ‘purchase’?

Unfortunately my laptop is out of action so I’m having to do everything on my iPad.

When you are logged in to the AppStore you can open your profile and get a list of all your purchases.

But the easier way to find out is open ST3, go to Settings > In App Purchases and tap on "Restore Purchases". If it unlocks the full version you are set. If not you should switch to the other account and try again.

Ignore my previous comment. The issue is resolved. Once I realised I had to go to ‘settings’ in ST3, not Apple ID settings, I found in-app purchases and unlocked the full version. No idea why it happened though.

Thanks again Peter. I think our messages crossed in the ether. Problem resolved, track inserted for tomorrow. Happy days
