Kevtyler HELP! INFORMATION OVERLOAD! I have done everything I can think, within reason to simply send midi commands from stagetraxx to the simplest dmx lightbar (From my ipad) and I am, to be honest, burned out on theis idea, but I cant seem to give up on it. I purchased the doremidi MTD-1024, took a week to get it. Spent days down a rabbit hole (Bugs Bunny was there) so I know im losing my mind. Because I did not know what to expect, i wasted a few days, trying to get it to work. Turned out the unit needed to be updated, so tried to do the update and it sat there for an hour upgrading and never finished, support said it was locked up. Needed to be updated, but the update process hosed it, and no one knows how to unlock it, Youtube helped me figure out why, and others expected the same issues. So frustrrting! Support verified it was a common problem, and it needed to be unlocked by windows only. LOL I dont own a windows machine. F%#$ that! Sent it back. There has got to be an easier way. Such a simple thing, connecting one lightbar (6 channels needed) for simple color changes on my ipad using stagetraxx. Why does this have to be so complicated? Why dont the lights have the interface built in? Ok, so now I hear I can use a simple software program (Photon 2) on my ipad, and connect artnet, so no interface is needed. I was told this hardware would work in that scenario: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D296XH9K?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1. I have that on order, but then in the middle of it, I setup photon 2, create a simple fixture, bla bla, and go to assign the midi commands that would be received by stagetraxx, and they want a yearly subscription, and a hefty one. Im not programming multiple lights, strobes, and all of that just a simple color change at certain intervals, but it forced me to upgrade as soon as I clicked the midi part, I upgraded. Then the software would never unlock the midi capabilities. I wait for nearly 2 days for a response, and they tell me I have to upgrade to the mac ddaddy software. WTF, So now im looking for a software product that will work on my ipad and thought QLC + would do it, but those are only for ios, not ipad. Is there a fool proof way to do this? Cause im thinking im a fool for continuing this project, but I cant let it go. I could use my lightbar, with the remote control and just let it slowly change colors, but thats not what I envision. With all the midi notes, interfaces, convertors, artnet, networks, nodes, midi to dmx interfaces, linking 2 ipads, and the rest is simply overwhelming. Is there a lightbar that is simply bluetooth? Maybe my visions are too grand for such a simple thing to occur. HELP! I see why van gogh was nuts, his colors were off too!!
