IOS26 and Bluetooth midi controller

Ive been researching midi controllers for Stage traxx 4 on my iPad iOS 26. It seems there are plenty of issues with bluetooth and midi foot switches. Can anyone confirm a pedal that works? Or a better way to connect a pedal to my iPad and use the iPad as an audio source via the USB C port.

Geospectrum not really sure what issues you’re referring to but it’s only really the irig pedals that don’t work with iOS 26.
There are a ton that do but like anything would depend on bow you plan on using it and what your budget is. For example the m vave chocolate gets great reviews considering its price. It’s a bit tricky to programme the app by all accounts but once you figure it out you’ll be fine. I’ve used the Xsonic airstep switches before and now use a Morningstar if you want something with a screen and can handle more complexity.

Lishy Ive just returned a Ampero Control Bluetooth midi foot switch and that doesn’t work either, it seems well documented now Ive done a bit more research. It seems to revolve around iOS26 and blue tooth connections. I’ll take a look at the Morning Star and x sonic, and possible the Chocolate. there are references to connection problems with the X Sonic. I have a faily basic requirements of just controlling Stage traxx and possible my looper down the road. totally new to this sort of thing so still finding my feet.

I am very happy with my M wave Chocolate plus , very cheap, easy to use , solid and reliable, 4 switches that gives you 10 switch control when configured, so far it has not let me down and I’m very critical of poorly designed equipment.
For the price it is unbeatable , it’s not the Ferrari of foot pedals but if you want to get from A to B cheaply and reliably I haven’t found a better option.

Ampero pedals also have issues in iOS26? Didn't know that. So then we have 3 pedals known not to work on iOS26:

Airturn (all devices prior to the 500 line)

My experiences with a iRig Blue Turn (i only need 2 commands: start/stop and next song)
iPad 12,9 iOS 18.6.2
ST 3: the unit is listed under airturn setup, i can program commands, it works perfect (though i set double tap for start/stop for manual use, I only have to tap 1 time on the Blue Turn)
ST 4 (tested direct after closing ST3): the unit is not listed in the airturn settings, but I can program start/stop. Sadly I have to tap twice for start/stop, just like using it manual.
I will buy another controller.

Keyboard based page turners like the blue turn no longer need the Airturn workaround. They work out of the box. Did you enable double tap to start/stop in settings? If yes, disable it.

I prefer the mode where a long press triggers a different command than a short press. That way you have 8 commands without the need to change banks.

I'm also using an Mvave Chocolate plus, I thought it was fantastic for the price and quality, I use it as 4 buttons (play, stop) (next song) (previous song) (change View) but pressing two together I can change banks and each one has 4 more options that for now I don't use but I found it very complete, the configuration is as simple as choosing in ST4 the function to press learn and press the chosen button and that's it, I became a fan of Mvave lol, I have a Tank G for guitar effect and wireless transmitters, so far everything is just joy.

Don’t you find the buttons on the chocolate too close together, when you are singing, mixing and talking and don’t want to change the bank you have to look down and concentrate a bit i found?

I rather have a compact solid pedal to carry than a larger pedal spacing which would still need me to look down slightly as now I have more distance to travel between switches, I have hit totally wrong button even though they were spaced far away by not thinking where my foot was but by having closer buttons I place the dangerous commands like STOP START on one end and the least used commands next to it making the most used buttons easily accessible and even if I hit one by mistake it can be easily reversed as it’s not an immediate disaster.

Just following up on this. I returned the Ampero and got a MVave Chocolate, although not the plus it turned out. I can now do what I need in Stage Traxx and all is good. I saved myself a few £/$/€ in the process.

Time to experiment a little more with MIDI.

Geospectrum I would pay triple the price if I could single press, double press and long press on it.
To me that’s the only drawback on it having only two controls per button.
But it’s so cheap I can’t complain.

Damir , the Flic button allows this. Obviously you can’t use it with your feet, but I’ve found that, for me, a combination of a Flic button and Chocolate controller is the perfect combination.
