Devices not syncing properly

Hi, hope you're doing all great. I've been using ST4 a lot lately, awesome new features! An upgrade to an already awesome app.

But I'm having problems syncing between devices. For example, a song that I changed on my MacBook (main device where I create songs) doesn't update on my iPhone or my iPad. After a while it did update on my iPad but no on my phone. Is there something that I'm doing wrong or a setting that I should know about on the new version?

I press several times sync now and such but many times with no luck, some songs just don't sync correctly between devices.

I have the same problem after the last update on the iPad and Mac, there is a pending.

I made a lot of improvements in iCloud Sync in the last few updates. So please make sure you update to the latest version 4.0.5.

If the changes contained changes to audio files, pdf and midi documents, version 4.0.5 will most likely fix those.

If not, please send me the log files (via Settings > Create Support Email) of the device where you made the edits. And of the device that did not sync. And mention the name of the song and what exactly you did edit.

Oh and keep in mind, that the changes might take a minute or two to be received by the other devices. iCloud Sync is not exactly real time.

Then I sent the support emails from both devices. Both are in the latest version 4.0.5. Both present 1 sync pending in the status even after several attempts. In my last session I had several changes and creation of new multitracks. I'll create a new multitrack and check if it synchronizes and I'll come back to inform you of the result. I just created a multitrack and it synchronized well with the other device, but the 1 pending message keeps appearing, it must be some error in some file that I can't figure out which is the same or a message error.

OK, so the pending song is one file that is missing in the cloud and also not present on both devices. So it will stay pending until one of the devices uploads that file. The missing file seems to be La Bamba regions.aif. That's most likely an error from the previous versions.

I think you can fix this be replacing the file in the La Bamba song or removing the track with this file. Do this on one device. The other should automatically update.

peter To experiment with the loop function in the regions and as in the previous version I only read the regions only in aif or wav files I created an aif file with the regions in logic pro, and then I deleted this file by ST4 itself and the region information was maintained, so far so good. Now with your information I went to see that the aif file was like lost, that is, I deleted it but it kept appearing in the multitrack information, I tried to delete the lost track several times but even appearing the message that I had deleted it was still there with the lost message, I chose to change it for any MP3 file which I did and then I deleted it, now the lost track disappeared but in iCloud sync a pending file continues to appear, I opened the songs one by one and none has a lost track. Yes please and please also attach a database only backup to that email. This will allow me to analyze why something in the database still references the deleted file.

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't see the pending file neither in the database file nor in the logs. The la bamba region file I mentioned earlier is definitely gone.

So do you see the pending file on the device you sent me the logs from or is that pending file only visible on another device? In that case I would also need to the see the logs and database backup from that device.

After taking a deep look at the code, I can see a code path that would lead to a file being stuck in the state "Pending". I will fix that in version 4.0.6. I would suggest we wait until that update and then reinvestigate if the issue is fixed with the update.

peter Thank you, Peter! The pending file message appears on both Mackbook Air and iPad devices. As soon as the new update comes out, I'll test it and let you know if it worked out.

Thanks Peter, I'll wait for the update, I also have that "1 pending" on my computer and phone.

Another thing, I was checking one song and on my phone , the files are not playing in sync with each other. I actually thought that I used the wrong click and bass files but no, in my computer the same song is playing correctly. I have pushed the sync button several times and this song just doesn't sync.

What could be wrong?

I've had this problem as well.... but with further errors. I had 8 pending, and on the iPad most of the songs had missing audio files and would not play at all.

for now I just abandoned iCloud altogether and did backups on an external drive to bring other devices up to current version of songs.

Version 4.0.6 will have significant improvements. The version is sitting in Apple Review for 3 days already. I really hope I can release it soon.

On the iPad it updated and solved the problem but on the MacBook Air M1 the update has not yet appeared in the App Store.

I just went through the website link and opened the update option in the App Store on MacBook Air. Now all devices are without the pending message. Thank you very much, Peter.
