Stagtracks 4 Moving on from stage tracks 3

Hello everyone, I’ve recently downloaded ST4 😊
I’m wondering if the same system applies to uploading and saving all playlists and all the tracks and then do a restore ?

I’m in process of creating a whole backup of all my tracks
Also creating a Data base back up.
Can this then be loaded into ST4 now as we did in the ST3

Routing Changes

Stage Traxx 3 routed each track directly to a specific output. Stage Traxx 4 uses buses instead — tracks are routed to buses, and buses are routed to outputs. During migration, each track is automatically routed to the bus matching its track number (for example, track 3 routes to bus 3). To restore your previous routing setup, assign the appropriate outputs to each bus.

I just read the above for Migrating from ST3 to ST4 I do not understand about routing to Bus and how this is done or changed

Yep! Create a full backup in ST3, then restore it in ST4.

Settings -> Audio settings.

You can also do it at top of each bus in the mixer.

Riff thank you ever so much mate 😊 also the Bus settings I’ve never dealt with bus settings so what do we assign to which channel please how do we use bus sections

Here's the way that I set up my tracks. I pretty much route each track to it's own bus, except I'll group certain instruments like guitars or different key tracks to the same bus.

Then here's the outputs. I'm not currently hooked up to the mixer, so you only see the routing for the ipad's two outputs at the top (1 & 2). When I'm connected to the mixer I have five channels dedicated to tracks, Click, Cue, Drums, Bass, & Tracks (for everything else).

I've always kept click & cue on separate tracks because some people prefer more click or more cue and this way they can tailor it to their needs. I could probably combine the other three channels to one on my mixer now because of how the buses work on ST4 compared to ST3.

What's nice about this is I can mute a bus and it's global for all songs. If I have a drummer, I can mute the drum bus. Same with bass or anything else.

Riff as I only play backing tracks and not adding any instruments 🎸 piano etc I’m guessing the routing of the Bus is not required for singers who just play backing tracks ? 🙂

Well, they have to go to a bus because the buses go to the outputs. Route the track to a bus, route the bus to an output.

Use as many or as few buses as you wish.
