Open Beta Version 3.2.0

Here we go again. A new beta version will be available shortly (in a few hours). Version 3.2.0 is not as packed with new features as version 3.1.0 was, but I think there are some very nice additions most of you will find very useful.

Anyone can participate in the beta. The beta version is installed as a separate app so that you can use the stable version in parallel. If you already participated in testing 3.1.0, you will get a notification about the new version in Testflight. New testers can use this link to participate:

The user manual is not adapted to the new version yet, so here are some useful hints:

Chord transposing can be turned on and off in the lyrics settings
Network clients will try to locate the currently playing song by title and artist tag in the local song list. So make sure that these tags match on your devices if you want to display your own lyrics instead the lyrics of the session host.
To see the "Send MIDI" command in the lyrics editor context menu, make sure that the cursor is placed within a midi tag.
The song list open/close button changes color when you keep it pressed. When it is highlighted, you can change the width of the song list.
Changing the channel used to generate waveforms will only affect new songs. If you want to regenerate the waveform of existing songs, you need to tap on the refresh icon in song details.
Edited song title and artist will only be stored in the app and is not written into the audio file.

peter hi peter new beta issue, when you hit play the song playlist disapears and only lyrics window is open, it comes back when you hit stop.
this should not happen as you want to see both windows at the same time as song is playing.

There seems to be some kind of hold up in the Testflight approval of the app. It might take a bit longer than expected. I will write here once the app has been approved for testing.

The app was finally approved and is now ready for testing.

And a remark for new testers: You need make an in app purchase to upgrade to the full version. This purchase is only virtual, you wil not be charged!

Hi Peter many thanks for the latest beta version 3.2 - another excellent job. A couple of things I’ve found so far.
1) If after editing either the song title and or artist and clicking done, on returning to the player screen the changes made to not appear immediately. It seems you have to return to the Song Details screen and click done again.
2) The new feature that automatically transposes the chords when a song pitch is changed should be optional for the user. I’ve found that existing songs that I have pitch changed in version 3.1 and already manually ‘corrected’ the chords to suit are transposed Incorrectly by version 3.2 as it doesn’t know they’ve been changed already!

DickyDutch Yes, there is a refresh problem when changing the title. There is also a problem with the section headers in the song list if you change the first character of the title. I will fix both in the next beta build.

Sorry Peter have just spotted that with ref to my second point the auto chord transposition can In fact be turned off In Settings if required.

Would it be possible to add the “Seek Within a Song”feature to the edit lyrics page.?

What do you mean by that? You already have a seek slider there. Or do you mean the scrolling? That's not possible, as the lyrics are not parsed for timecodes. That does not really make sense as you want to keep the focus on your cursor.

Yep sorry meant the scrolling.Eg as you move the seek slider it would follow the lyrics to allow to jump to a verse or chorus quickly while listening to the relevant audio.
But no probs just a thought.

New build 5380

So far no big issues have been found in version 3.2.0. This build fixes some minor problems:

Fixed mini player play button not changing state during fadeout
Fixed title and artist edits not always visible in the list views
Fixed song section not updated when changing first character of the song title

Regarding the change that allows a client to use their own lyrics, can this be used to turn off lyrics for our drummer who does not sing. Only needs to know what song is next in playlist...

JDSMUSIC Yes, he could create a placeholder song with empty lyrics for songs where he does not want to see lyrics. Although this seems to be quite a bit of work just to hide lyrics. Or do they distract that much?

yeah, too much work. would be great if there was an option to just show the current queue no lyrics

The queue is not transferred to the clients. Only the current song and the next song.

Hi Peter have noticed that when editing Lyrics with iPad in the portrait position it’s not possible to scroll to the bottom of the lyrics to make any changes. However this can be cured if the iPad Is rotated to the landscape position then back again to portrait. Regards Richard.

DickyDutch another quick temporary solution i found was to create extra blank lines at end of song this lifts your end text so you can see it.

I can't reproduce this issue. What type of iPad do you have? Does it happen with every song?

EDIT: Oh, for me I do see it in landscape mode, not in portrait. The last 2 lines are overlapped by the toolbar. Seems like the height of the keyboard and toolbar is calculated wrong. I will take a look at it.

You will find that the situation is made worse if the new auto adjust lyrics editor font size is selected

Hi guys, OK so just joined beta test and so glad to see I no longer have to manually type all my midi commands in, but just one request after testing that part. Is it possible to have it so when you play your track and tap to listen for midi it stays listen to all changes until you tap to tell it to stop?? Basically so as you can go through a full song without having to tap for it to listen again for the next midi command? 😁😁
