Hi....i am looking to move to multitrack audio for backing tracks....enjoy the stage traxx lyics window..can stage traxx support multitracks ?

No, not currently.

But again, this is on my long term feature list. Although in my opinion it only makes sense with multi out audio interfaces and I'm not sure a lot of users use these.

thanks Peter....appreciate the quick reply...actually I've been using a multi out interface for very long time....i have used an allen & Heath qu-16 as well as a Behringer XR18...both digital mixers but also audio interfaces..makes it easy for live us...been using a laptop running MOTU DP to play tracks on stage with my larger band....using an ipad for my smaller group..this set up makes me have to manage two sets of songs on stereo mixdown (for large band, click panned left, tracks right - have a live drummer and bass player) and for my duo, stereo mix of drums /bass / keys (we play guitar and sing)....having multiouts (only really need 4) would allow me to use same song file for every gig...just mute the channels not needed (mute drums when live drummer present)....
long winded answer, but wanted to give you insight into why i'm asking...
great product.....not sure how many others are in my situation..in my area quite a bit actually (find work where we can)..

Right so multitrack support will need to come with a limited mixer section per track where you can select outputs, pan, mute (& solo?) and set volume. This is also what I would want from multitrack support.

I don't think this is something I could add this year (versions 3.2 and possibly 3.3). Maybe something for version 3.4 or 3.5 next year.

Hi Peter, I'm a new user about to move to Stage Traxx 3 for track playback and lighting MIDI control. I wanted to voice my support for this multitrack out feature request. I see your last message about it potentially being a long ways away (if at all), but just wanted to say that I'd certainly appreciate this feature as well to use with my multi-out audio interface.
Also, as a new user, it's incredibly refreshing to see such excellent support by a developer- this is a really smart and well-thought-out app. Great work, and thank you!

Thanks! I will add your vote to this feature. It will defnitely not be in the 3.3 release. But maybe I can fit it into 3.4.

please have a look at an app called livetraker.

I bought the previous version that was called stagetracker 3, was a great app but now not supported anymore and after paying $100 the guy now wants another 100 euros for me to upgrade and even if I did, I use the way easier and more portable iPad to play tracks.

multi outputs is a great option but to be honest even with stereo out for my one man band gigs I could use a small multi track mixer in your app, say up to 6 channels with EQ, volume, pan for each channel, if that’s a possibility that would work magic.
while your app already is great to be able to split the drums and the bass and some extra keys/strings with a few channels (5/6) would bring the mixes of the tracks to a new level, way more work yes but way better mixes.

please look at the app I suggested (free working demo limited to 5 songs is available for both mac/Pc) and see how many of the options you could implement in ST3?

I initially hated ST3. I was one of the guys hating the queue list, and eventually opted for a refund. I paid the discount rate as I’ve got the ST2 app and after I got the refund and was following your updates, repurchased the app at the full rate again and now I can’t do without it 😊

Version 3.4 is nearly finished. Last big todo is the multitrack feature. I am already working on it and hope I can release a beta in a few weeks. Multitrack songs will be a new song type like the placeholders are currently. So you need to decide beforehand if a song is multitrack or plain stereo. The track count will be limited to 4 or 6 channels. Changing pitch and speed will not be possible in multitrack songs. Crossfading in and out of multitrack songs will also not be possible. Apart from that they will behave like normal songs.

It will be possible to name each track in the settings and to mute tracks in the settings. That way you can change your band setup just be changing settings once and it will affect all songs.

For example, you can define track 1 is drums, t2 is bass, t3 guitar and t4 click. If you play with a drummer you just mute track 1 and unmute track 4 in the settings and all your tracks will play without drums but with click. On another night you play without drums but with guitar, then you mute track 3 and possibly track 4.

Compressor definitely not. ST3 is not a daw and compression should be done when preparing your stems. Pan and EQ will most likely be possible but currently it is too early to tell for certain.

Hi Peter, with version 3.4 is possible to use audio card for multitracks ? I able to do this with Multitracker app but not have Lyrics. I would use my iPad pro wit Behringer Umc 1820 and Stage traxx with multitracks and Lyrics and midi for dmx and other midi options for my pedals board.

Yes, that works. I have tested with a Behringer XR18. But Stage Traxx will only use 4 channels. You can't route each track to its own output channel.

Ive been busy working on some extra ideas to further improve my live setup, and while
its still early stages, i've managed to hook up my ipad to my helix via USB, use helix as
a soundcard out (can do 4 outs as well when i update to 3.4) and the run the midi in and out of the helix
into a small laptop running win8 where i run my Martin lighting DMX unit, and have a small midi controller to program
the lighting queues into the ipad while seeing the lights in real time and then after pressing play
the lights will be controlled by ST3.

it took me a while to get all to work well, i needed a midi app to run in the background on the ipad
for some reason i couldn't get ST3 to pass on the midi back through the USB output so i can see
what im programming in real time.

if theres another way to enable this without the background midi app for ipad i'd love to hear it
but otherwise this seems to work great. i'll make a detailed vid soon enough about it as well.
