Upgrade from Stage Traxx 3 to Stage Traxx 4

Dear Stage Traxx Support Team,
I am currently using Stage Traxx 3 and I have a valid license for it.
I would like to ask whether it is possible to upgrade to Stage Traxx 4 for free, or if there is a discounted upgrade price available for existing Stage Traxx 3 users.

If you bought ST3 in December 2025 or later, the upgrade is free of charge. Any purchase before that will get a 50% discount on the full price.

Hi Peter, thanks for the quick response. I've been working with Stage Trax 3 since you created it. I upgraded, but I paid 17.99 euros, as the license is for one year. Is that right or did I do something wrong with the upgrade?

Because I installed Stage Traxx 4 on my iPhone and noticed that it installs separately from Stage Trax 3. Will this happen the same if I install 4 on my iPad? I still want to work with 3 until I get used to 4.

The license is not restricted to a year. Please read the info popup here: https://stagetraxx.com/#pricing. It explains in detail what is restricted for 12 months.

Stage Traxx 4 is always a separate app on all devices. You can use it in parallel with version 3 until you get used to it.

Hi peter , I am a heavy MacOS version user. Tried just now to pay in Mac, but didn't see the button. Instead, it said I have "Unlocked" with the date that I "paid" in TestFlight. I then turned to my phone and showed my support. Not sure if I will need to pay again in Mac (hope I will be able to restore my purchase later).

Hi @peter , there’s something wrong with St3& St4.

I’ve had ST3 for over 2 years now, and I have it full version, after I installed today the ST4is not giving me the option to upgrade it, just to purchase it in full, also ST3 has all the songs, but I cannot play them because the full version is lost “even having all the data and all the songs in it”

So I thought it was a bug, I uninstalled it and now it disappeared from the App Store and cannot install ST3, only allows me to install ST4, and is not recognizing my previous purchase.

I did checked and I downloaded it with the same Apple ID I used to purchase ST3.

What could be the problem? At the moment I lost st3 with all the data “previously saved and backed up” but I cannot use anything.

Hey mate

St3 and st4 use separate data bases

If you have both apps on your pad, and have to delete one app, you still have a working app with its own song collection

MusicMan81 All apps you have purchased can be installed from the AppStore. Open the AppStore, tap on your profile pic and select Apps > My Apps > All. Then search for Stage Traxx 3. Once installed, restore your purchase and then start ST4. It will recognise the purchase and offer you upgrade pricing.

byung Are you sure you updated to the AppStore version? Looks like you are still running the testflight version on the Mac. But if you bought it on Phone already, that purchase will automatically be recognized on the Mac. So if you update, you will still see it being unlocked.

Stage Traxx 3 doesn’t work anymore, is even showing me hundreds of songs but is asking for a full purchase? How can I create hundreds of songs with the free tier?

And I cannot press play or anything, the app just glitched… so I erase it, but now it doesn’t exist anymore in the App Store, not even in my apple account old purchased apps. Weird ass f….

And so, Stage Traxx 4 is asking me also to do a full purchase…

You sure you're logged into the same account you purchased ST3 from?

MusicMan81 Then you have purchased ST3 with a different AppleID and switched to another AppleID once it was installed. You need to switch back to the AppleID you used to install and purchase ST3 and then you will see it in the purchases section of the AppStore.

All purchases are tied to your AppleID. If you switch AppleIDs you should contact Apple support to move your purchases to the new ID.

Hi Peter, I installed Stage Traxx 4, but I was not aware that I had to pay for the upgrade, even with the 50% discount. What will happen to Stage Traxx 3, will it stop working at a later date? Is it possible to be reimbursed? Because Stage Traxx 3 is good enough for me.

Wiebe ST3 won't 'stop working'. There's no plan to 'force obselence' to force upgrades to ST4. There just won't be any new functionality added to ST3. If you want to keep using it, that's perfectly fine.

I might release bug fix updates in case iOS27 will brake something but after that, there will most likely no longer be any more updates to ST3.

Apart from that, if you are happy with ST3, you can keep using ST3 as long as you like. You bought a lifetime license for it so you will never be forced to update.

Hi Peter,
I am using Stage Traxx 3 which I purchased a couple of years ago. My process is that I create songs in Pro Tools on my Mac computer and then transfer the MP3 files to a usb sandisk which I use to transfer the song into Stage Traxx 3 on my iPad.
I even did that today and it worked fine. I listened to the version in Stage Traxx 3 and decided I wanted to make some changes in Pro Tools and re-transfer the song to Stage Traxx 3. Except now I'm getting an error message in Stage Traxx 3 that says Content Unavailable - the folder contents could not be displayed because of an unknown error. So I changed usb discs but still get the same message.
Any suggestion you might have would be greatly appreciated.

This is an iOS error and not related to Stage Traxx. It will most likely also popup if you try to access your USB drive in the Files app. Maybe try to reboot your iPad and check for any iOS updates.
