Feedback on SONG selection via assignable buttons & remotes.

Great work Peter, my chocolate foot pedal works perfectly and the assignable buttons are great as well, no more delay.
One more thing I noticed, not sure if it’s fixable, when you select a song and hit play , the first hit of the remote or assignable buttons there is no movement , it’s only after the second hit you get a change.
Also I would make it so if you move up one to the now playing song that it becomes the next song , in other words it will repeat once and when it gets selected again the song below becomes the next song again.
This then becomes an easy way to repeat a song and a smooth way of moving up past the now playing song.
At the moment first hit nothing happens then it jumps over the now playing song.
I know I have pointed this out in ST3 and hope it can be made more smooth in ST4 , it’s ok as is but not perfect.

After more playing around, I found as you select a song and you get the next song below it, the first hit in any direction actually moves the two songs in position slightly on screen but nothing happens it’s the next hit that actually moves away from the now playing song , it appears to be stuck together on the first click then it separates away from the playing song again, I hope you can see it, I am using my chocolate remote.
Expectation
As soon as I select a song and play it , my first hit in any direction selects a new next song.

Actually the first hist selects the now playing song. You just don't see it because it is not highlighted.

Actually I have to correct myself. I just tried it out and the first use of next or previous song already selects the next or previous song if any song is marked as playing and playback is not running. So I guess what you are referring to is during playback. Then the logic is indeed not working as intended. During playback triggering next song will select the current next song which you can't see if it is the song after the current song.

So the question is: What is the correct behaviour during playback? Should we start moving directly with the next song? But what if next song is somewhere completely else? Would you expect the list to jump there and move from there?

That's why I originally had the highlighting of the background which you didn't like. That way you could see where the selection currently is and where not.

So in the end I think the current logic is the best.

I decided to change the logic a little bit. During playback, you want to skip over the current song and the next song. I think that will behave as expected in most cases.

Much better now , the whole feel of using remotes is great now and no unexpected surprises, skipping over the now playing song means less button pushing if moving backwards , repeating a song is not a big deal as we have audio segments to easily do that and a repeat button in title bar , but this means extra foot switches to do something that could easily be done on song selection buttons for those that don’t segment their songs and haven’t got numerous foot switches available , I’m just pointing out the positives and negatives, thanks for making this perfect now I feel ST4 is better than ST3 because it feels smooth ST3 in this area is still a bit rough as it has jerking issues.
