peter How on earth can you judge the linearity of a fade that lasts only half a second?
Ive been a sound engineer in television 35 years, its not hard to hear the difference when listening to ST3 xfade and ST4 its very obvious.
Set 0 fade in and .5 fade out on both sTs and hit xfade on both and hear the difference , ST3 is smooth as expected, ST4 has a sudden drop off it does not sound linear, i am wondering if the delay of the start of audio is not lining up with the start of the xfade so its only capturing the ass end of the fade.
Its less obvious if you use longer Xfade times, but i use very short times as all my songs are instant start and i want them to flow in to each other quickly.
ST3 does it very nicely . I think we had a similar issue with it but you got it perfect.
