Can the whole progress bar be fully lit at all times, it’s very hard to see the dark side , seeing the whole song layout is a lot more beneficial.

And how would progress then be rendered if it is already fully lit? Also progress in the waveform view is displayed by highlighting the played part. I don't want to use different idioms for progress bar and waveform. Both need to basically render the same way.

peter Wouldn’t reversing the brightness difference be more logical? So, “already played” part would be darker. That would probably make everyone happy 🙂

Yes its more logical , but in this case its not needed at all if you think about what we are doing on stage and what we need, following others is never a good thing when creating something new.

I'm not sure. It would make you 2 happy, but the usual way progress indicators work is to highlight the played part and not the other way around. And I like to stick to proven standards.

Why do we need a highlight it seems complicated and unnecessary, i have my triangle to tell me where i am and i have a colour coded line to tell me whats where, why am i them getting a darkened area to hide this information , it is pointless and works against what we need , and that is to see where we are and clearly to see where we are going, why is it so hard to understand.

Sorry peter this makes no sense in this case.Just because is not a good way to look at things when creating something new.

peter Tbh, for me it doesn't really matter, because I don't use regions. I was just trying to offer a "compromise" 🙂

Anyway, for me "darker" means "done" or "unavailable", "lighter" means "not done yet" or "available". Just like anything else in any user interface: greyed out > not available, nothing happens if you click/tap.

Also in any DAW, if something is greyed out, it means it's not gonna play, if it's lit up, it will play.

An example from my current Logic project. Only the first Ac. Guitar L track is playing,

Or we can think of it as PacMan eating those dots. No dot, nothing to eat 🙂

Also please change your language from ‘we’ to ‘you’ as you don’t speak for everyone.

musicadi Tbh, for me it doesn't really matter, because I don't use regions.

I am thinking of ST4 as a musician tool for on stage use, not a game or a daw , using other totally different tools ideas is not always what’s needed for ST4.
I don’t need dark section, I need to see all my segments clearly at all times as I might be jumping around them all at any time , the triangle is more than enough to indicate where I am , now I need to see where I might be going.
PAC man is totally different logic and idea that works really well , but I am not playing pac man I am on stage making very fast decisions and need as much clear and bright information so at a distance I can see what I’m doing.

Damir life doesn’t work like that, man! Mutual respect is key with human interactions, especially online, where you can’t really convey feelings. Saying “I can’t be changed” when changing (to be a better being) is probably the single most important reason we all came to this world, is a bit counterproductive.

Don’t get me wrong. Most of your ideas are great, but the problem is with HOW you express them and with the fact that you give the impression that they are the only possible solution and that your way of doing things is the best. Then, when people call you out for it, you become rude.

You want others to accept you, but you don’t seem to accept that not everyone wants what YOU want.

I admire Peter’s patience, because in most forums, you would have been banned already 🙂
