peter Because some people get additional info out of the waveform like approaching drops in the audio file. And there is already an option to disable the progress bar if you don't like to have both.
I am agreeing with you but you miss my point.
I am trying to explain , you already have a waveform with much better options then the slim pizza above replicating the same tool , yes I know i can turn this off is settings, but that means if i jump to Audio segmenting view I then have to turn it back on in settings , this can be avoided totally by setting the default in waveform view to NO THIN PROGRESS BAR AS ITS NOT NEEDED IN THAT VIEW.
the idea is to make ST4 work the most logical way so people don’t need to touch settings as default.
At the moment we are getting too many options to do so many different things it’s confusing.
Let’s make the basic interface work in a way that it minimises going to settings, only provide necessary options.
Example , you can turn on off blinking of segment in the progress bar , now really , is that necessary , it’s a logical tool to help if it is annoying you turn off the progress bar as it means you are not really needing it.
The software has to have some limitations and make the user get use to it otherwise we are going the OnSong path, over complicating it is not the answer .
I try to point out things to simplify it.
Using audio segments you definitely benefit from the progress bar , using waveform you don’t, so simply default the views to that , so now you can turn off the progress bar the waveform and the segments if you wish or use segments with the progress bar or waveform without it as it’s not needed there, very simple , now if I decide to switch between the two methods I don’t need to involve settings I get exactly what I need .
